Kotobukiya's lineup of statues based on the superheroes and villains of DC Comics continues to grow, and following after Captain Cold is another of Flash's Rogues: GORILLA GRODD! Once a normal ape living in Africa, Grodd (along with his people) was given heightened intelligence by the pilot of a crashed alien starship. Unlike the other inhabitants of Gorilla City, however, Grodd also received incredible telekinetic and telepathic powers! With those and his unchecked aggression the fearsome ape would attempt to take over world on more than one occasion, though his schemes are continually stopped by the Flash. In the New 52 era of DC Comics Grodd was once again ruler of Gorilla City, and used the Scarlet Speedster's powers against him (unsuccessfully). That version of the character is now immortalized in the elite ARTFX+ series with this massive and mean presentation of Gorilla Grodd standing on two legs and bellowing into the air with the skull of one of his victims held aloft! The maniacal villain has an incredible sculpt covered in realistic long fur and the snarl on his face will stop heroes right in their tracks. Grodd wears a fluttering red loincloth on a gold belt, and his matching helmet, pauldrons, and ragged cape are removable so you can display him as you like! Sculpted by Ikkei Jitsukata, Gorilla Grodd stands an incredible 10 inches tall in the ARTFX+ 1/10 scale, and the magnets in his feet provide extra stability on his included display base. Peter Parker wears his traditional red and blue costume, recreated here with painstaking sculpted detail in the fabric's texture and the superhero's lean muscled physique. His swinging pose, pulling down on the web strand as his legs start to rise, is taken directly from the comics, and the flexibility and movement adds a unique element to this presentation. In addition, the Webslinger statue is a new hybrid form with the New York skyscraper base constructed using cold casting to highlight the texture of the stonework while Spider-Man himself is made from PVC to capture the hero's movement and detail. Crafted by master sculptor Kouei Matsumoto, Spider-Man Webslinger is in 1/6 scale as he swings through the cityscape. Bring home this high-flying hero before he swings off for good! Sculpted by Erick Sosa, this finely crafted statue depicts a grieving Wolverine who has escaped from the research facility where he was subjected to Experiment X, a brutal experiment that involved bonding the mutant's skeleton with admantium and erasing his memories. The statue recreates the scene where the fugitive mutant is running down a snowy mountain road after his escape, which is considered to a crucial point in the character's storyline. The diorama base is modeled after the harsh winter environment in the remote area of Alberta, Canada where Department K is located. Although the motif of the statue differs from the statues of the -Danger Room Sessions- series, Weapon X still looks great displayed alongside the other X-Men Fine Art Statues. The next character to join the lineup is the serious and studious protagonist of the series, Twilight Sparkle! She has been beautifully rendered into the Bishoujo style by Bishoujo series illustrator Shunya Yamashita. Based on her human appearance in Equestria Girls, the Bishoujo rendition of Twilight Sparkle wears a stylish school girl inspired outfit. The Bishoujo's iconic long straight hair is recreated flowing lightly around her. Twilight Sparkle's kindness and delicacy are expertly translated into statue form, down to the tips of the fingers perched lightly on the frame of her glasses. The statue also includes a pony version of Twilight Sparkle, who is floating lightly at the Bishoujo's feet.
