esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.

Sydney seems like a normal, rudderless 15-year-old freshman. She hangs out underneath the bleachers, listens to music in her friend's car, and gets into arguments with her annoying little brother - but she also has a few secrets she's only shared in her diary. Like how she's in love with her best friend Dina, the bizarre death of her war veteran father, and those painful telekinetic powers that keep popping up at the most inopportune times. After his first two critically heralded graphic novels, Celebrated Summer and The End of the Fucking World (recently adapted into a TV show on the UK's Channel 4 and soon to be streaming stateside on Netflix), Forsman once again expertly channels the teenage ethos in a style that evokes classic comic strips while telling a powerful story about the intense, and sometimes violent, tug of war between trauma and control. I Am Not Okay with This collects all of Forsman's self-published minicomic series into one volume. It comments naturally on familial strain, sexual confusion, and PTSD in his usual straightfaced-but-humorous style, and firmly stakes his place among the world's best young cartoonists. The hilarity never stops in this second collection of The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers comics stories, featuring the Brothers' trip to the 21st century and two Fat Freddy's Cat solo escapades. In this collection of hilarious and politically correct short comics, Freewheelin' Franklin, Phineas, and Fat Freddy form a band; bring home a stray container of plutonium; try to make it through a whole day without getting stoned; and help Phineas through his pregnancy, in 'Phineas Gets an Abortion.' (About which, say no more). (Oh, did we say: 'politically correct?' Just kidding!) In the titular story, the Freak Brothers venture outside on a mission to score a little weed. It is their first encounter with the wonders of the 21st century. ('Still illegal?') Plus: Fat Freddy's Cat stars in two solo adventures, including a visit to 'Cat Heaven.' Fat Freddy himself stars in a bonanza of satirical sketches skewering such targets as Star Wars, G.I. Joe, and Superman. The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers in the 21st Century and Other Follies by Gilbert Shelton and Paul Mavrides is the second release in this special series of seven graphic albums. (The series presents all the Freak Brothers' adventures chronologically, but individual albums will come out in a different order.) The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers comics have sold more than 45 million copies worldwide in 16 languages. The Freak Brothers, the animated series now streaming on Tubi, stars Woody Harrelson, Pete Davidson, John Goodman, and Tiffany Haddish. Gilbert Shelton, a founding father of the underground comix movement, is the creator of the iconic comix characters The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers, Fat Freddy's Cat, and Wonder Wart-Hog. He was inducted into the Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame in 2012. He lives in Paris, France, with his wife and an ever-changing number of cats. Paul Mavrides, an enigmatic cartoonist, painter, and graphic artist, began collaborating with Gilbert Shelton on The Freak Brothers in 1978. (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

From the cinematic mind of Atsushi Kaneko (Bambi and Her Pink Gun) comes a contemporary reimagining of the timeless, Eisner Award-winning Dororo, by 'God of Manga' Osamu Tezuka (Buddha, Astro Boy). This is a tale of rage. Rage against hypocrisy, injustice, exploitation, and the wrongs done to a child who grew into a righteous killerâ¦. Complete in three volumes, Search and Destroy transplants the vengeful action of Dororo from feudal Japan into a dystopian future where mercenary robots known as 'creatures' serve the human elite and victimize the city's scrabbling, desperate masses. The violent death of one of these creatures connects an orphaned thief named Doro with a mysterious girl in a stinking animal hide that conceals deadly cybernetic implants. Who is this mysterious girl? How is she killing, one by one, the city's most twisted and powerful creatures? Originally serialized from 2019-2021 in the Japanese manga monthly TezuComi, Search and Destroy is a brilliantly-crafted thriller about an outsider looking for meaning and vengeance in the unjust world that took everything away from her. Kaneko populates a stunning, high-contrast setting that echoes postwar Cuba as much as Tokyo with an unforgettable cast of scrappy heroes and skin-crawling monsters on a nonstop ride full of action and suspense. This authorized retelling updates the rebellious '60s spirit of the original Dororo for the equally tumultuous 2020s, mixing Tezuka's signature dark yet playful storytelling sense with Kaneko's own wide range of influences, which include Western cartoonists like Daniel Clowes and Charles Burns as well as filmmakers like David Lynch. The result is not only one of the best sci-fi manga of recent years, but also one of the most visually rich and distinctive works of graphic storytelling in any genre or language. Atsushi Kaneko is a Japanese manga artist from Sakata, Yamagata Prefecture. His two books, Bambi and Her Pink Gun and Soil, have both been published in France. Bambi has also been published in English and Soil has been adapted into a television drama series. Osamu Tezuka (1928-1989) was a Japanese manga artist, cartoonist, and animator. His prolific output, pioneering techniques, and innovations in genre storytelling earned him such titles as 'the Father of Manga,' 'the Godfather of Manga,' and 'the God of Manga.' This entrancing collection of graphic short stories explores the occult forces that touch upon our everyday lives. Within our visible world, there are hidden worlds full of unknown forces whose nature we cannot fathom. Ocultos swirls together a series of stories that form a bridge between our world to the next, where thoughts and dreams can bend and shape reality. A woman in therapy is haunted by disturbing visions; a lonely widower feels a presence wafting through her house; a little boy sees bright red lights flash across the night sky. Vivid dreams, poignant symbols, fleeting sensations - all clues that point to an understanding of what lies beyond. Celebrated for her previous graphic novel, Totem, Spanish comics artist Laura Pérez presents another entrancing vision of magic and mystery. Artfully rendered in her signature wispy, atmospheric pencil lines punctuated by splashes of color, Ocultos is a spiritual, reflective work that will leave you spellbound. Caravaggio: The Palette and the Sword Volume 1 is the first half of Milo Manara's two-volume epic biography of the hot-tempered Italian master painter. Crumb, Bil Keane, Johnny Ryan, Jaime Hernandez, Mike Mignola, and more! In 1999, the Comics Journal named Herriman's Krazy Kat the greatest comic strip of the 20th century. It's never been too well known (in the course of its 30-year run, it often survived only because of William Randolph Hearst's support), but cartoonists more or less agree it's a masterpiece. The premise couldn't be simpler: Krazy Kat loves Ignatz Mouse, who rejects the Kat's affections by throwing a brick at him? her? Krazy is both and neither whereupon Offisa Pupp arrests Ignatz. This was the plot of nearly every episode, but the beauty was in the variations Herriman could work on it and in his delirious sense of style. The primal comedy played out in thousands of ways, drawn with an incomparable design sense against a gorgeously stylized backdrop of the American Southwest and delivered with Herriman's hilarious dialogue half invented, half quasi-Joycean wordplay ('Ooy-yooy-yooy wot a goldish oak finish like a swell mihoginny piyenna l'il dusky dahlink!!!'). This first in a new series of reprints (designed by Chris Ware and edited by Bill Blackbeard) picks up where the series published by Eclipse Books left off 10 years ago; it'll cover two years in each volume. This 1925-1926 collection shows how Herriman began to stretch out, opening up his layouts and experimenting with storytelling technique and the basic conventions of the comic strip itself. (W/A) Hank Ketcham 672 pages, B&W, 5.5' x 6.25' $24.99 Hardcover Dennis vaults into the 1960s with his anarchic spirit still intact. As always, this book is a series of unrelated panel gags (with the exception of one week-long story involving Dennis' mild-mannered Grandpa), but what gags! Ack! Cough! cough! Hank Ketcham is legendary for being one of the most exquisitely skilled cartoonists of all time, and each and every panel is a small masterpiece of design and draftsmanship. This volume of The Menace features Dennis' long-suffering parents, the Wilsons, his dog Ruff, his best pal Joey, his nemesis Margaret, and a seemingly endless parade of babysitters, as well as hapless shopowners, policemen and teachers, and family friends, all of whom come to realize that it's Dennis' world... they just live in it! Readers have had to wait nine months for the second chapter in Mezzo and Pirus's creepily sexy suburban soap opera - but here at last is the second installment. (The concluding third volume will appear in 2011.) Eric the fly-head-wearing teenager is back (as well as his hapless mother and her 'fiance'), as are not-quite-ingenue Marie, the worldly Sal, Denis the drug dealer and his now one-handed father, and of course the loopy retro bowling thug Ringo... plus several new cast members, including one who died at the very beginning of the first volume and has now returned to roam the earth. Once again, the story is told through a series of seemingly unrelated short stories which eventually become intricately braided into one sprawling tale of a community haunted by obsession, rage, regret and despair - in sum, a graphic novel for the 21st century. Approximate Continuum Comics brings American readers the first portion of the 'Trondheim autobio trilogy' that also comprises the Eisner-nominated 'At Loose Ends' meditation serialized in Mome (which will be released as a graphic novel in 2012) and the ongoing 'Little Nothings' series of short slice-of-life stories (three to date from NBM Publishing), as well as the first three chapters serialized in the Nimrod comic book. In Approximate Continuum Comics, Trondheim's typically graceful, confident cartooning shows him wrestling with his own demons (sometimes, in dream sequences, literally) and an often malevolent world, while trying to maintain his rising career as one of Europe's most beloved cartoonists.
