esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.

An homage to and lampoon of westerns, Coyote Doggirl is a self-aware, playful subversion of tropes, from the producer/production designer of the hit series Bojack Horseman. Coyote is a dreamer and a drama queen, brazen and brave, faithful yet fiercely independent. Together with her trusty steed Red, there's not much that's too big for her to bite off, chew up, and spit out right into your face, if you deserve it. But when Coyote and Red find themselves on the run from a trio of vengeful bad dogs, get clobbered by arrows, and are tragically separated, our protagonist is left fighting for her life, and longing for her displaced best friend. Twenty years in the making, legendary Canadian cartoonist Seth's landmark series Clyde Fans shows the rituals, hopes, and delusions of a middle-class that has long ceased to exist in North America. Abe and Simon Matchcard are brothers, the second generation struggling to save their archaic family business. Much like the myth of an ever-growing economy, their family unit is a fraud-the patriarch has abandoned the business to mismatched sons, one who strives to keep the business afloat and the other who retreats into the arms of the remaining parent. Presented in a deluxe slipcase edition, Clyde Fans is an epic time capsule of a storyline that begs rereading. (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

Showa 1953-1989: A History of Japan concludes award-winning author Shigeru Mizuki's stunning historical and autobiographical series about Japanese life in the twentieth century. The final volume picks up in the wake of utter defeat in World War II, covering the United States' shift from enemy to ally. Jobs, money, and opportunity are funneled along in a bid to establish the country as a bulwark against Communist expansion. Japan thus reinvents itself, emerging as an economic powerhouse. This period of peace and plenty conceals a populace still struggling to come to terms with the devastation of their all-too-recent past. (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

An award-winning cartoonist confronts anxiety and regret. A long-time city maintenance worker keeps pulling an accident prone newbie’s fat out of the fire or maybe in this case, an arm and another arm and a leg out of the woodchipper. What happens when NOTHING HAPPENS? Can a disaster averted still be a disaster? In The Woodchipper, Joe Ollmann, cartoonist of the groundbreaking Governor General Award finalist Fictional Father, returns with a suite of comic short stories focused on his trademark nervous wreck characters caught in a series of escalating personal disasters. Everybody’s doing their best. Everybody’s just trying to get through the day. (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

by Philippe Dupuy Ten years after finishing the original French edition of Maybe Later, Philippe Dupuy set out on his own again with Haunted. Gone are the tightly constructed narratives and urbane, elegant graphics of his projects with collaborator Charles Berberian. In their place, roughed-in drawings give an urgent, spontaneous feeling to a series of hallucinatory stories and dreamlike sequences that register the raw distress of solitude and self-doubt. A jogging Dupuy runs around and sometimes through the stories of the misfit characters that haunt him: a self-amputating dog, a Left Bank artist in search of emptiness, an art-collecting duck, Lucha Libre wrestlers, and a group of single guys at the watering hole imagined as the anthropomorphic 'Forest Friends.' Heart pumping, gaze turned inward, the ground occasionally giving way beneath his feet, this alter ego concludes that sometimes you need to cross the line to figure out where it is. by Pascal Girard Nicolas is a moving debut work by Quebecois cartoonist Pascal Girard. The book is presented as a series of short autobiographical vignettes that take place after the childhood death of his younger brother, Nicolas, who passed away in 1990. Each episode taken from Girard's childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood offers a glimpse into his multifaceted and ongoing process of reckoning, as he struggles to reconcile the magnitude of this tragedy with the minutiae of his daily experience of loss. Girard treats his subject with a spare line and a refreshingly matter-of-fact tone that prove to be all the more moving in their honest simplicity. Ultimately, Nicolas unfolds as a delicate portrait of the many faces of mourning, identified with surprising humor and pathos. (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

(W/A) Seth Celebrated cartoonist and New Yorker cover artist Seth gives us the fictional life of George Sprott. On the surface George seems a charming, foolish, old man, but who is he? And who was he? Told as a patchwork tale, we come to know George, piece by piece, in a series of 'interviews,' flashbacks, and personal reminiscences. George Sprott is a story about time, identity, loss, and the persistence of memory. Though, ultimately, this is the story of a man's death, Seth leavens it with humor and restraint. Originally serialized in The New York Times Magazine, this greatly expanded and remastered-version is George Sprott's first publication as a complete work. (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

(W/A/C) Chris Ware The landmark 20th volume of the seminal comic book series! Jordan Wellington Lint, 51, is Chief Executive Officer of Lint Financial Products, a company he began serving in 1985 as assistant and advisor before working his way up its corporate ladder to record-setting innovation in the fields of finance and high-yield investment. Lint graduated from UNL in 1981 with a BA in Business and briefly studied music and recording in Los Angeles before returning to his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska, where he has continued his life journey ever since. In his ongoing role as Chief Executive Officer and his dual roles as public servant and father, Lint continues to put his creative leadership and vision to work in a variety of challenging settings. He is married and is the father of two boys. (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

Delicate, complex drawings tell of a science-fiction world. Intelligent Sentient? feels like an artifact from another time; a lost feature in OMNI magazine, the album booklet for a late 1970s Hawkwind record, or perhaps a print version of Koyaanisqatsi. Beautiful, detailed, filigreed drawings fold in on themselves and blossom out at the reader. A loose story is told, one of a society of giant people, strange art, and inexplicable scientific experiments utilizing nonexistent technology. Factories and treehouses teem with life, and the city nestles up against a landscape filled with dinosaurs, apes, and dragonflies living peacefully side by side. Intelligent Sentient? is a series of images that tie together in progressing theme, the takeaway is that everything is connected. This book is meant to be read forward and back and returned to and treated like a mystical text. (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

As night falls in the City of Belgium, three strangers in their late twenties - a most dangerous age - arrive at a popular restaurant. Jona is about to move away; he calls his wife, who's already settled in Berlin, before trying to make plans with friends for one last night on the town. No one bites-they're all busy or maybe they just don't want to party-but he's determined to make this night something to remember. Victoria is lively and energetic, but surrounded by friends and family who are buzzkills, always worrying about what is best for her. Rodolphe glumly considers his own misery and then suddenly snaps out of it, becoming the life of the party. The three careen through the city's nightlife spots and underbelly, chasing pleasure-or at least a few distractions from their daily lives. Each has a series of adventures that reveal them to be teetering on the edge between lucid dream and tooth-grinding nightmare. (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

'Have I settled down yet?' The question rings eternal across all ten stories in this highly anticipated debut collection of comics fiction by New Yorker and New York Times contributor Michael D. Kennedy. A series of individuals leave the West Indies and attempt to find their footing in the damp dinge of England's counties. A child on his daily trike ride is stalked by a sinister, shape-shifting ligahoo. A blues singer's wife hallucinates untoward revelations in the grips of high yellow fever when she inhales spores from psychedelic mushrooms growing unchecked in their apartment. A man dwells on his absent father, paints the man into a duppy myth, and bears the consequences of this fantastical undertaking. Inspired by the folk tales and oral traditions of his Caribbean roots, Milk White Steed is a dreamlike venture into the messy truths of everyday West Indian lives. The mournful, tragicomic tune of wanderlust undercut by the longing for a home seemingly lost “Have I settled down yet?” The question rings eternal across all ten stories in this highly anticipated debut collection of comics fiction by New Yorker and New York Times contributor Michael D. Kennedy. A series of individuals leave the West Indies and attempt to find their footing in the damp dinge of England’s counties. A child on his daily trike ride is stalked by a sinister, shape-shifting ligahoo. A blues singer’s wife hallucinates untoward revelations in the grips of high yellow fever when she inhales spores from psychedelic mushrooms growing unchecked in their apartment. A man dwells on his absent father, paints the man into a duppy myth, and bears the consequences of this fantastical undertaking. Inspired by the folk tales and oral traditions of his Caribbean roots, Milk White Steed is a dreamlike venture into the messy truths of everyday West Indian lives: the abiding pursuit of the familiar and the vicious appraisal of their own otherness, all at once. Phantom desires, unchecked reveries, and surreal visions of the future flood the page in full-color. Kennedy’s decisive woodcut-inspired brush-strokes draw a striking portrait of the Black diaspora as it sees itself, always searching and yet forever seeing.
