esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.
edited by Gary Groth & Eric Reynolds THE PREMIER ANTHOLOGY OF LITERARY COMICS Since its inception in 2005, Mome has overlapped the contemporary graphic novel scene, the literary world, and the graphic arts community by serving as a McSweeney's of comics for those who want a vibrant, quarterly sampler of the best the medium has to offer. Whether exposing new talent like Eleanor Davis (author of the recent Stinky by Toon Books) or Tom Kaczynski; featuring short stories by contemporary graphic novelists like Dash Shaw (The Bottomless Belly Button) or Paul Hornschemeier (The Three Paradoxes); bringing the work of international superstars like David B. (Epileptic) or Killoffer (676 Apparitions of Killoffer) to American audiences; or introducing the work of legends like Gilbert Shelton (The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers) to a new generation of readers, Mome is the most acclaimed, accessible, frequent, and reasonably priced anthology on the market despite its high production values and mostly color format. Upcoming issues include, in addition to those named above: Jonathan Bennett, Sophie Crumb, Andrice Arp, Kurt Wolfgang, Joe Kimball, Ray Fenwick, Tim Hensley, Al Columbia, Jon Vermilyea, Sara Edward-Corbett, Robert Goodin, Laura Park, Nate Neal, Olivier Schrauwen, Derek Van Gieson, Conor O'Keefe, and other surprises. by Mark Newgarden Cartoonist Mark Newgarden debuted in the first issue of RAW magazine in 1980 and his work subsequently found its way into a variety of high and low profile media. He co-created the '80s pop culture fad Garbage Pail Kids, wrote and drew a weekly syndicated humor feature in the '90s, and created a 'Web Premiere Toon' for The Cartoon Network called 'B. Happy.' Newgarden is currently developing an unconventional Christmas special for The Cartoon Network. Newgarden's comics are hilarious, alarming, and masterful uses of the medium, alternating between old-time gags and avant-garde storytelling, often on the same page without missing a comedic beat. Those syndicated comics will make up the bulk of this book, the balance drawing on Newgarden's long form stories from various anthologies, including the much-lauded 'Love's Savage Fury.' This book is a full picture of the artist, his influences, and his many other careers. Newgarden remains a great link to the past while moving ever further into the future. We All Die Alone is an uproariously funny and fascinating book that will appeal to comics readers, pop culture buffs, and any appreciator of the graphic arts. In Nate Neal's first full length graphic novel, the author explores the primal mysteries and sordid inner workings of a Paleolithic cave-dwelling tribe, creating an original 'silent' reading experience by using symbols instead of words. When a mysterious nomad girl is offered up as an item of trade, she seeks refuge by forming a tenacious friendship with the local cave-painter turned outcast. Together they set out on a dangerous mission to bring truth to their corrupt tribe with the help of their new discovery (via some psychotropic mushrooms): drawings that tell a story. Subsequently, they become enmeshed in the violent power struggles and sensual intrigues between the alpha males and alpha females. In Sanctuary, art, inspiration, and communication is in conflict with tradition and law, and the novel dramatizes the moral imperative of man facing the truth even at the cost of his, and society's, lives. Featuring its own delicately crafted Paleolithic language, The Sanctuary breaks new ground by bringing complex ideas to the page with primal immediacy and sophistication through Neal's adroit use of pantomime storytelling that provide many layers of symbolism and meaning. This is a darkly comic journey through a prehistoric re-imagining of art and comics. (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

CLASSIC EURO-COMICS GRAPHIC NOVEL, NOW IN A COMPACT NEW SOFTCOVER EDITION One of the earliest full-length, standalone graphic novels to be published in Europe, You Are There is an unexpected collaboration between the darkly cynical Jacques Tardi and the playful fantasist Jean-Claude Forest (of Barbarella fame). You Are There is set on a small island off the coast of France, where unscrupulous landowners have succeeded in overtaking the land from the last heir of a previously wealthy family. His domain now reduced to the walls that border the patches of land he used to own, the half-mad fellow prowls the walls all day, eking out a living by collecting tolls at each gate. His seemingly hopeless struggle to recover his birthright becomes complicated as the government sees a way of using his plight for the sake of political expediency, and the romantic intervention of the daughter of one of the landowners (who has her own sordid history with the politician) engenders further difficulties. Set in Tardi's preferred early 20th century milieu, You Are There is drawn in his crisp 1980s neo-'clear line' style, gorgeously detailed, with impossibly deep slabs of black. This new paperback edition features a long introduction by Dr. Bart Beaty, situating You Are There in the context both of the history of French comics and Tardi's and Forest's oeuvre. An exhilarating and tender debut graphic novel that is an ode to the love and connection shared among three women and the child they all adore. Bron and Ray are a queer couple who enjoy their role as the fun weirdo aunties to Ray's niece, six-year-old Nessie. Their playdates are little oases of wildness, joy, and ease in all three of their lives, which ping-pong between familial tensions and deep-seeded personal stumbling blocks. As their emotional intimacy erodes, Ray and Bron isolate from each other and attempt to repair their broken family ties - Ray with her overworked, resentful single-mother sister and Bron with her religious teenage sister who doesn't fully grasp the complexities of gender identity. Taking a leap of faith, each opens up and learns they have more in common with their siblings than they ever knew. At turns joyful and heartbreaking, Stone Fruit reveals through intimately naturalistic dialog and blue-hued watercolor how painful it can be to truly become vulnerable to your loved ones - and how fulfilling it is to be finally understood for who you are. Lee Lai is one of the most exciting new voices to break into the comics medium and she has created one of the truly sophisticated graphic novel debuts in recent memory.
