MLB 29 is McFarlane Toys' first baseball line for 2012, and also marks the first time they have offered current players and baseball legends in the same series. This impressive lineup includes two brand new sculpts, the SportsPicks debuts for a pair of outstanding shortstops, two superstars in new uniforms, and a new pose for one of the most beloved Yankees of all time. MLB 29 features two players making their SportsPicks Debut - Chicago Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro and Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki. The two most coveted players from this year's free agent class are in MLB 29 in new uniforms. Phillies left-hander Cliff Lee wears Philadelphia's home pinstripes while Boston left fielder Carl Crawford shows off the Red Sox alternate red uniform. Yankees catcher and captain Thurman Munson gets his second figure in MLB 29. His debut figure featured him blocking the plate, but this time he's showcased in a hitting pose. But the baffling string of deaths inevitably attracts the attention of the police, who turn the case over to the secretive master crime solver known only as 'L'. Although he's as brilliant as he is arrogant, Light finds himself hard-pressed by L in their deadly game of cat and mouse. He tries to use Misa, a teen idol who's acquired her own Death Note and Shinigami, to destroy L, but is outfoxed by his nemesis. To ensure Light does nothing without his knowledge, L has them handcuffed together. Although it begins slowly, Death Note gets better with each installment, as the stakes grow higher in the duel of wits between Light and L. Director Tetsuro Araki plays up their physical differences: Light is cool, handsome and well-groomed; slovenly L seems to think with his twitchy bare feet as well as his redoubtable brain.
