esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.

Daredevil is a super-hero created by Jack Binder. In the character's first appearance, as a child, Bart Hill was witness to his parents' brutal murder. The murderer also branded Bart with a hot iron, leaving a boomerang-shaped scar on the left side of his chest. This traumatic experience left the boy mute. He trained his entire life in the art of the boomerang, eventually becoming a master boomerang marksman. He then donned a costume and took to the streets as the vigilante crime-fighter known as Daredevil. However... for Bart Hill/Daredevil's second appearance showed him able to speak and it was later revealed that his parents were killed while in Australia, with Bart then raised by a tribe of aborigines who taught him the art of using boomerangs. As an adult, he returned to the U.S. and fought crime as Daredevil. Collects Daredevil Comics #2-13 (August 1941-October 1942). (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

Quality Comics was an American comic book publishing company that operated from 1937 to 1956 and was largely influential in creating the 'Golden Age' of comic books. From 1940-1950, printer Everett M. 'Busy' Arnold reprinted Spirit stories under his Quality Comics banner, first individually from 1940-1947 as one of the features in 92 issues of Police Comics and from 1944-1950 as 22 issues of The Spirit. The Spirit is a fictional masked crime fighter created by cartoonist Will Eisner, who fights crime with the blessing of the city's police commissioner Dolan, an old friend. Despite the Spirit's origin as detective/ criminologist Denny Colt, his real identity was rarely referred to after his first appearance, and for all intents and purposes he was simply 'The Spirit'. The stories are presented in a wide variety of styles, from straight forward crime drama and noir to lighthearted adventure, from mystery and horror to comedy and love stories, often with hybrid elements that twisted genre and reader expectations. Comic book stories from the 1940s and 1950s may depict some ethnic and racial prejudices that were once common place in American culture. Such depictions were wrong then and are wrong today. While not representing the publisher's view of today's society, these stories are printed as they were originally created, because to do otherwise would be the same as claiming these prejudices never existed. Doug Danville was a wealthy New York playboy who decided to fight crime. He put on a costume and began his career as K the Unknown. He later changed his costume and became the Black Owl! Doug got involved with Terry Dane, a private investigator and true to comic-book tradition, she greatly admired the Black Owl and belittled Doug Danville for being useless. Nevertheless he continued fighting criminals as the Black Owl, until he enlisted in the Army and handed down his costume to Walt Walters, the father of Yank and Doodle (more of this later). With a whole host of enemies including Chief Skullface, the Fox, Frankenstein, Funnibone, the Green Mummy, the Tiger Lady, the Laughing Head and the Terrible Midge, among others, the Black Owl had plenty to keep him busy and probably had to do overtime during the day time hours! Synopsis: Lev Gleason - DAREDEVIL COMICS VOL 2 - Daredevil Comics #2 - #13 August 1941 - October 1942 Daredevil is a fictional superhero created by Jack Binder. In the character's first appearance, his origin was said to have been told to the artist of the story by someone named 'Captain Cook...' The story was that, as a child, Bart Hill was witness to his parents' brutal murder. However... It appears Captain Cook lied, for Bart Hill/Daredevil's second appearance showed him able to speak and it was later revealed that his parents were killed while in Australia, with Bart then raised by a tribe of aborigines who taught him the art of using boomerangs. As an adult, he returned to the U.S. and fought crime as Daredevil. Lev Gleason launched Daredevil's own comic with Daredevil Battles Hitler #1 (July 1941), in which Daredevil and other Silver Streak heroes fought the German chancellor. It was written and partially drawn by Charles Biro, who in his 16-year run would make the character one of the most acclaimed of the Golden Age. (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

First introduced as 'Dan Brand and Tipi' in Magazine Enterprises' Charles Starret as the Durango Kid issue #1 from October/November 1949, the White Indian was created by Frank Frazetta and Ray Krank. Dan Brand was the colonial ancestor of the Durango Kid. On his wedding day to Lucy Wharton, Lucy's ex-boyfriend, Peter Bradford tried to shoot Brand. The bullet missed him and killed Lucy instead. After her funeral Dan left Philadelphia to the West- to hunt down Bradford! He was attacked by a bear, which he killed with his knife but was badly wounded. Luckily, the chief of the Catawbas, Great Eagle and Tipi, his young son found Dan and helped him recover. They invited him to stay with them, which he did for a year-until Bradford reappeared, now selling rum and weapons to the Catawbas' rival tribes. Bradford killed Great Eagle and fought with Dan-who was now known as the White Indian, where Bradford plummeted off a cliff to his death! (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

Lou Fine was one of the most impressive and influential artists to ever work in comics. His fluid figures were admired and copied by such greats as Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. In addition to his impressive covers, he worked on such comics as the Black Condor; aka Richard Grey Jr. having lost his parents was raised by giant black condors and after studying his condor foster parents, he learned to fly. He befriended a hermit monk named Father Pierre who convinced him that he should use his unique attributes to do good and so was born the Black Condor. Lou Fine also created The Ray, a reporter named Hubert 'Happy' Terrill who was covering the story of a high-flying 'strato-balloon' exploring the upper atmosphere. An electrical storm struck and while closing the outer airlock door, 'Happy' got the full brunt of the storm's energy and the unfiltered sunlight giving him his super powers to absorb energy from his surroundings and emit it from his body in any form he chose, also using it to propel himself through the air.
