esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.

Based on an award-winning, museum-exhibited art project, this one-of-a-kind A-Z gallery features 27 portraits of cultural icons reimagined in LEGO, from Toni Morrison and Sidney Poitier to Serena and Venus Williams.Richard Dryden and Dave Kaleta connected in 2020 over a shared passion for LEGO® bricks, creative expression, and the pursuit of equality. The following year, they competed together on Season 2 of Fox’s LEGO® Masters, and their collaboration continued beyond the show. Awesome Black Creativity began as a 26-week Instagram series and grew into an award-winning museum exhibit that has toured the U.S. and Europe, earning recognition from the Estate of Nina Simone and the attention of Questlove along the way. This book is the fullest expression of that project yet.Together they've created twenty-seven LEGO® portraits of the Black creatives, activists, and athletes who shaped our culture, paired with original biographical essays that give each figure the depth their legacy deserves. Dave Kaleta's signature Miniland Plus building style brings an artistic seriousness to the medium that goes well beyond what most people imagine when they think of LEGO®. Richard Dryden's writing, rooted in years of covering Black music, art, and culture for Complex, The FADER, and others, brings the same seriousness to the stories themselves.Notice that none of the figures have faces. That's intentional. Every faceless build is an invitation to see yourself in these legends: Alvin Ailey, bell hooks, DJ Kool Herc, Kehinde Wiley, Toni Morrison, Marsha P. Johnson, the Williams Sisters, and the twenty others who fill these pages. From the creators of the ABC traveling museum exhibit, in partnership with DuPage Children’s Museum.LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group of companies, which does not sponsor, authorize, or endorse this book.
Richard Dryden is a writer and DJ from Brooklyn, New York. He has written about music, fashion, and Black culture for outlets such as Complex, The FADER, AFROPUNK, Office, VICE, LargeUp, and Okayplayer, and has performed as DJ Treats at fundraisers, museums, galleries, and events featured in VOGUE. His love of building LEGO® sets led to writing about LEGO® and competing on LEGO Masters in 2021. He also works across the entertainment industry, from managing public relations at With Love PR to serving as an associate producer on the New York Jamaican dancehall documentary Bad Like Brooklyn Dancehall, and has collaborated with the LEGO Group as a brand ambassador.Dave Kaleta is an award-winning LEGO® artist whose creations have appeared in books, museums, and fan conventions worldwide. His work has been featured by NPR, CNET, Business Insider, the Victoria & Albert Museum (London), and major LEGO® fan networks. With over 40 years of creative experience, Dave’s “Miniland Plus†character style brings emotional nuance and artistic depth to LEGO® portraiture.

Also renowned as an editor on both long-running and short-lived series, Jo Duffy has written runs of Power Man and Iron Fist, Marvel Team-Up, Wolverine and others. In addition, she regularly penned Marvel’s adaptations of Star Wars, Conan the Barbarian and Akira. Duffy wrote the New Mutants tie-in miniseries Fallen Angels and cowrote several Speedball stories from Steve Ditko’s plots. Her later work includes DC’s Catwoman and Image’s Glory.Few can match Ron Frenz’s record of substantial stints on two of comicdom’s most influential and revered characters, Spider-Man and Superman, both of whom he provided with controversial new looks. Frenz succeeded John Romita Jr. on Amazing Spider-Man, and his artwork was favorably compared to Steve Ditko’s original web-slinger. With Roger Stern, he introduced the Hobgoblin, covering the mysterious villain’s debut and revealing his identity more than a decade later in Hobgoblin Lives. With writer Tom DeFalco on Thor, Frenz debuted a new look and identity for Marvel’s Thunder God, eventually branching into Thunderstrike. Later, Frenz and DeFalco launched the MC2 Universe, home of Spider-Girl, the only Marvel heroine to reach one hundred consecutive issues.
