esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.
A Technicolor tapestry of irreverent comic book fun for adults young and old! One day while combing the beach in their hometown of Las Brisas, the Santos Sisters discover a pair of beautiful medallions. What happens next changes their lives, forever. The medallions are imbued with the powers of a goddess, 'Madame Sosostris,' and can transform them at will into flying, gun-wielding, mask-wearing murder-heroes with hearts of, if not gold, then at least candy. Follow Ambar and Alana, the Santos Sisters, as they balance spicy superheroics with the drama of their everyday lives in a playful mix of Archie Comics and Love and Rockets. The Santos Sisters fight crime, date guys, and try to just deal with day-to-day life as young women in a world of deadly assassins, roided-up footballers, zombie attacks, organized crime, and more - while their creators, Greg & Fake, help restore the concept of unabashed fun in comic books with a healthy infusion of nostalgia and laughs. Collecting the first five issues of the charmingly weird and weirdly charming hit indie comic book series! Note: This book is published as a jacketed hardback; the jacket is a clear acetate printed with an image of the sisters in their superhero costumes. When removed, it shows the sisters in their every-day outfits. (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

Pulp horror classics from the 1950s! Revenge, ghosts, locked rooms and killer ants, taken from early Marvel Comics series Men's Adventures and Amazing Detective Cases. The 1950s boom in horror comics saw Atlas Comics' entrée into the genre. Beginning in March 1952, Amazing Detective Cases began detailing cases where justice was served in supernatural fashion and beginning in May 1953, the adventures in Men's Adventures were taken over by ghosts, murderous revenge, and psychological terror. The cream of Atlas' artistic line-up - including recent EC stars and future Marvel staples - rose to the grisly challenge of the horror genre. Each issue is crammed with four condensed tales of creeping dread, ironic comeuppance, or startling twists, all from a different artist or team. Among the short, sharp shocks included in this volume are the mini masterpieces 'The Eerie Escape' by B. Krigstein, 'The Torture Master!' by Russ Heath, The Drowning Witch' by Reed Crandall and 'The 3rd Corpse' by Bill Everett. Stories by Gene Colan, John Romita, Joe Sinnott, Dick Ayers, Jim Mooney, Paul Reinman and George Tuska, all of whom remained through the shift to Marvel Comics, additionally fill out these issues, along with Atlas regulars Fred Kida, Mort Lawrence, Mike Sekowsky and Myron Fass. Notably included is the first appearance of 'Gorilla Man' by Robert Q. Sale, a character brought back in Marvel's contemporary Agents of Atlas series, and part of their ongoing continuity. Collecting Amazing Detective Cases #11-14 and Men's Adventures #21-26, Shiver As You Read! is a perfect companion to Adventures Into Terror, Venus, and the other titles of the Atlas Comics Library. The first in a series of 10 oversized softcover editions, each one containing a half-decade's worth of Peanuts Sunday strips, elegantly restored and remastered in warm, vibrant full color. Charles M. Schulz's beloved comic strip Peanuts has largely been collected and reprinted in black and white. But many who read the comic strip during its original newspaper run remain fond of its brightly colored Sunday pages, which made for a surprisingly different and fulfilling reading experience. The debut volume in this series, Peanuts Every Sunday: 1952-1955, compiles the first four years of the strip. This collection offers a fascinating peek at Schulz's creative process, as iconic characters such as Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Schroeder, Linus, and Lucy quickly evolve from their initial renderings to the elegant stylizations we've all come to know and love. Our Peanuts Every Sunday series collects all of the Peanuts Sunday strips, scrupulously restored and re-colored to look better than they ever have. These gorgeous, oversized softcover editions allow fans and new readers to immerse themselves in Schulz's timeless masterpiece. (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

The multiple Harvey and Eisner Awards series collecting one of America's true national treasures, Krazy Kat. This is the fifth in a series reprinting George Herriman's early 20th Century comic strip masterpiece. Most of these strips have not seen print since originally running in Hearst newspapers over 70 years ago. Each volume is edited by the San Francisco Cartoon Art Museum's Bill Blackbeard. Krazy & Ignatz 1933-1934 will be a hot-baked brickbat of a volume, adance with nearly two full years of the Sunday Krazy Kat (Herriman did not use color until 1935), snug between multiple pages of Herriman extras, not the least of which include an introduction by Blackbeard, a new 'Debaffler' page, and a stunning layout front and back and throughout by the inimitable Chris Ware! Krazy Kat is a love story, focusing on the relationships of its three main characters. Krazy Kat adored Ignatz Mouse. Ignatz Mouse just tolerated Krazy Kat, except for recurrent onsets of targeting tumescence, which found expression in the fast delivery of bricks to Krazy's cranium. Offisa Pup loved Krazy and sought to protect 'her' (Herriman always maintained that Krazy was gender-less) by throwing Ignatz in jail. Each of the characters was ignorant of the others' true motivations, and this simple structure allowed Herriman to build entire worlds of meaning into the actions, building thematic depth and sweeping his readers up by the looping verbal rhythms of Krazy & Co.'s unique dialogue. Charles Burns is the creator of the landmark horror graphic novel Black Hole, currently in production as a major motion picture directed by David Fincher. Skin Deep is the third (following El Borbah and Big Baby) of a series of three volumes collecting his acclaimed oeuvre up to Black Hole. Skin Deep includes Burns' popular character Dog Boy (a red-blooded all-American boy with the transplanted heart of a dog) and the classic strip 'Dog Days,' in which a hash-slinging vixen wags her tail at our fearful hero. The book also collects 'Burn Again,' which features a strange fella named Bliss Blister, claiming to bring the Word of God, but some fear he brings something evil and profane. In 'A Marriage Made in Hell,' a young wife's flesh tingled with passion, but the sight of her made her husband's skin crawl. Was the love-knot she tied really a hangman's noose? These tales of doomed romance set a tone for the rest of Skin Deep. In addition to the comics, Skin Deep includes several pages of illustrations reprinted from Burns' sketchbooks as well as covers and other pieces from foreign editions of the author's work. edited by Blake Bell 7.25 x 9.5, HC, 224 pages, FULL COLOR, $39.99 ISBN 978-1-60699-289-0 OVER 200 PAGES OF VINTAGE, PRE-SPIDER-MAN, PRECOMICS CODE HORROR COMICS FROM STEVE DITKO Before the Amazing Spider-Man, before the mysterious Dr. Strange, before the black-and-white world of the Ayn Rand-inspired Mr. A, the legendary comic book artist Steve Ditko was conjuring all manners of horrors at his drawing table. In his first two years in the industry (1953 and 1954), Ditko drew tales of macabre suspense that were not yet hobbled by the imminent Comics Code Authority (adopted in Oct. 1954). These stories featured graphic bloodshed, dismemberment and blood-curdling acid baths as the ugly end to the lives of the dark and twisted inhabitants of Steve Ditko's imagination. Following up on strange and stranger: The World of steve ditko, Blake Bell's 2008 best-selling critical retrospective of Ditko's career, strange suspense: The steve ditko Archives Vol. 1 will, for the first time, feature spectacular full-color reprints of every story from those first two years of his career. Beginning with Ditko's very first story to Ditko's short stint in the Joe Simon/Jack Kirby studio, to Ditko's eventual encampment at the Charlton Comics operation in 1954, readers will see the initial works of an artist already at a level of craftsmanship that exceeded most of his peers. The book will also feature editor Bell's insightful historical notes, as well as a series of short essays by some of the comic book industry giants - Daniel Clowes, Gilbert Hernandez, etc. - who will speak to Ditko's influence and his unique craft. by Daniel Clowes The dramatic short stories included in this softcover edition of CARICATURE have drawn comparisons to Nabokov for their complex naturalism and sense of humor. Anchored by the title story, considered the first apotheosis of Clowes' seminal Eightball underground comic book series, CARICATURE also includes eight other stories, including 'Green Eyeliner,' a six-page full-color short story originally published in Esquire as the first work of comics to be featured in the magazine's fiction issue (and commissioned by then-editor Dave Eggers). In Zippy's latest collection of daily and color strips (with additional pages!), the tour of 'Dingburg' continues; we drop in on dozens of Dingburgers and observe them in their natural habitat. The city 'inhabited entirely by pinheads' can be seen as a metaphor for the world we live in today - or not. In any event, we watch as Zippy and his fellow Dingburg residents hunt and bag 'Speedy Alka Seltzer,' hear voices in their refrigerators, become addicted to Riboflavin, enjoy fondling newsprint, believe that 'wahoo bark' attracts the opposite sex, and worship Joan Rivers. There's also the extended series in which Zippy has a long (and donut-based) conversation with God and another in which we meet a pinhead poet who bears a striking resemblance to Charles Bukowski. Are we having fun yet? (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

Readers have had to wait nine months for the second chapter in Mezzo and Pirus's creepily sexy suburban soap opera - but here at last is the second installment. (The concluding third volume will appear in 2011.) Eric the fly-head-wearing teenager is back (as well as his hapless mother and her 'fiance'), as are not-quite-ingenue Marie, the worldly Sal, Denis the drug dealer and his now one-handed father, and of course the loopy retro bowling thug Ringo... plus several new cast members, including one who died at the very beginning of the first volume and has now returned to roam the earth. Once again, the story is told through a series of seemingly unrelated short stories which eventually become intricately braided into one sprawling tale of a community haunted by obsession, rage, regret and despair - in sum, a graphic novel for the 21st century. Approximate Continuum Comics brings American readers the first portion of the 'Trondheim autobio trilogy' that also comprises the Eisner-nominated 'At Loose Ends' meditation serialized in Mome (which will be released as a graphic novel in 2012) and the ongoing 'Little Nothings' series of short slice-of-life stories (three to date from NBM Publishing), as well as the first three chapters serialized in the Nimrod comic book. In Approximate Continuum Comics, Trondheim's typically graceful, confident cartooning shows him wrestling with his own demons (sometimes, in dream sequences, literally) and an often malevolent world, while trying to maintain his rising career as one of Europe's most beloved cartoonists. by Charles M. Schulz In this volume of the bestselling Complete Peanuts series, Charles Schulz introduces one (in fact, three) of the quirkiest characters to the Peanuts universe, the numerically-monikered 95472 siblings. They didn't stay around very long but offered some choice bits of satirical nonsense while they did. As it happens, this volume is particularly rich in never-before-reprinted strips: over 150 (more than one fifth of the book!) have never seen the light of day since their original appearance over 40 years ago, so this will be a trove of undiscovered treasures even for avid Peanuts collectors. (W/A) Carl Barks The first volume in a series of affordable, full-color hardcovers collecting the complete works of 'The Good Duck Artist'! Carl Barks' Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge comics are considered among the greatest and most timeless artistic and storytelling achievements in the history of the medium. Yet until now, his works have only been reprinted in random comic book iterations or high-end collectors' editions. For the first time, read the complete works of one of the medium's greatest artists in affordably priced hardcover volumes perfect for parents and children alike, meticulously restored and recolored to ensure the very best reproduction Barks' work has ever received. Barks began drawing the comic book adventures of Donald Duck in 1942, and he continued for the next 30 years, creating some of the most memorable comics and characters ever put to page. This first volume contains over 200 pages of vintage Barks from 1948-1950, including the title story 'Lost in the Andes,' Barks' personal favorite, wherein Doanld and his nephews embark on a Peruvian expedition to solve the mystery of where square eggs come from. Also featured are 'The Golden Christmas Treek,' 'Race to the South Seas,' and 'Voodoo Hoodoo,' as well as over a dozen other strips and stories. Lost in the Andes also features an introduction by noted Barks scholar Donald Ault, and detailed commentary/annotations for each story at the end of the book, written by the foremost Barks authorities in the world. AN EXTRA-BOUNTIFUL HELPING OF ZIPPY STRIPS Comprising a full two and a half years' worth of dailies and full-color Sundays, The Dingburg Diaries is the third Zippy book featuring tales of 'Dingburg, the City Inhabited Entirely by Pinheads'-Zippy's home town. There's even a long series of 'Historical Dingburg' strips, chronicling the pinhead population through the years, from 1840, when Dingburg's 'Town Fool' accidentally invented disco, to 1958 when Dingburg Beatniks flourished in the town's Bohemian neighborhood. Like, Yowl, man. God also has his own chapter (and verse). In the guise of a clip art 'authority figure,' he dispenses unwanted advice and conditional love upon the citizens of Dingburg. His tendency to cross-dress reaches new heights when he appears in a performance of 'Swine Lake,' wearing a tutu. Sacrilegious, yet sensitive. There are large chunks of Mr. The Toad, Zerbina, Little Zippy and the rest of Griffith's cast of characters throughout this expanded collection. Published in a larger 8' by 10' format, The Dingburg Diaries also features a big color section, showcasing Griffith's inventive palette. There are parodies of the paintings of Edward Hopper and Film Noir, and 'Griffy's Top Ten List On Comics and Their Creation' a semi-serious mini-tutorial on everything (well, ten things) he's learned in over forty years at the drawing board.
