Kurt Busiek is perhaps most famous for his Eisner Award-winning collaboration with Alex Ross on Marvels, a fully painted classic that still amazes a quarter of a century later. John Tarachine (a pen name) was born in 1989 in Hyogo prefecture in the Kansai region of Japan. While at art school, she tried her hand at filmmaking, but realized she was better suited to working alone and decided to pursue manga as a career. After graduating, she set out on a trip around the world, promising herself that she would get a real job if she didn’t make it as a manga artist by the time she was twenty-five. She narrowly met that personal deadline when she made her debut in 2015 with Good Night, I Love You, a tale of a man who travels to London to fulfill his mother’s dying wish. She followed this up with a manga adaptation of the Netflix series Sex Education before tackling fantasy in Witch of Thistle Castle. She came to feel that she was more interested in drawing shojo manga, however, and when an editor at the shojo magazine Mystery Bonita reached out to her about working together, the result was the critically acclaimed The Credits Roll into the Sea. She also draws BL manga under the name John Taratsumi.Jocelyne Allen is a Japanese translator and interpreter who splits her time between Toronto and Tokyo. She has translated hundreds of short stories, novels, and manga, including the Eisner Award-winning titles Lovesickness by Junji Ito and Onward Toward Our Noble Deaths by Shigeru Mizuki, and the Harvey Award-winning My Lesbian Experience With Loneliness by Nagata Kabi, as well as the critically acclaimed Our Dreams at Dusk by Yuhki Kamatani, and the classic shojo manga The Rose of Versailles by Riyoko Ikeda. Andrea Mutti is a comic book artist from Brescia, Italy. He attended the Visual Arts school in Bescia directed by the Argentine master Ruben Hector Sosa. Andrea began his career in the 1990s, collaborating with various publishers such as Fumettando and Fenix. He became part of the HAMMER project for Star Comics editions, and worked with Sergio Bonelli Editore on the Nathan Never series. He has collaborated extensively with the French market, publishing with Glenat, Dargaud, Soleil, Lombard, and others. In 2001, he landed in the US market working for publishers such as Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, IDW, Image, and others. His titles include Maniac of New York, Bunny Mask, Rebels, STAR WARS, Batman Eternal, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Infinite Dark, Haunt You to the End, Parasomnia, Long Haul, and Nottingham. He lives in the USA and Italy with his wife two sons and a crazy dog! Tula Lotay is the pen name of illustrator Lisa Wood. Born and raised in Yorkshire, England, Tula specializes in comics, film, and editorial illustration, as well as being the founder of the world-renowned Thought Bubble Festival. In 2019 Tula was awarded the Bob Clampett Humanitarian Award by the San Diego Comic Con Eisner committee for her charitable and fundraising work. In 2015 she was nominated for a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comic Book for The Wicked + The Divine #13. Her Eisner-nominated comiXology Originals book, Barnstormers, debuted in 2022. Few writers/editors influenced Marvel more than Mark Gruenwald (1953-1996). Famed for pioneering work on the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe and his magnum opus Squadron Supreme, he also wrote a hundred-plus-issue run of Captain America; multiple Marvel Two-in-One sagas; and several miniseries, including Contest of Champions, the first of Marvel’s multi-hero sagas. He explored the Marvel Universe’s ancient history in a series of What If? backup stories he also penciled.Roy Thomas joined the Marvel Bullpen as a writer and editor under Stan Lee, scripting key runs of nearly every title of the time: Amazing Spider-Man, Avengers, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, Sub-Mariner, Thor, X-Men and more. He wrote the first 10 years of Marvel’s Conan the Barbarian and Savage Sword of Conan; and launched such series as Defenders, Iron Fist, Invaders and Warlock.
