esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.

Since his start on the New Universe’s Psi-Force and backup stories in Classic X-Men, Fabian Nicieza has written most of Marvel’s major super-teams — including Alpha Flight, the Avengers, the New Warriors, the Thunderbolts and the X-Men. Together with artist Rob Liefeld, Nicieza transformed New Mutants into the blockbuster X-Force. The writer also tackled solo heroes ranging from Cable and Deadpool (later combined in Cable & Deadpool) to Gambit and Nomad. He edited Marvel’s Star imprint, contributed to multititle X-events like “X-Cutioner’s Song†and “Phalanx Covenant,†and wrote various “pre-modern†limited series such as Adventures of Captain America and Citizen V and the V-Battalion. Elsewhere, he has written both JLA and Justice League Adventures, The 99, Turok, X-Files, and others.Jeph Loeb is an Emmy Award-nominated and Eisner Award-winning writer/producer. In television, his many credits include Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Heroes, Lost and Smallville; and in film, Teen Wolf and Commando. He has written nearly every major comics icon, including the Avengers, Hulk, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Captain America, Batman and Superman. From 2010 to 2019, he was Marvel's executive vice president, head of television, in which role he executive produced multiple series for Netflix, beginning with Daredevil in 2015.Prolific creator Tony Daniel penciled a memorable X-Force run. At Image, he illustrated Alan Moore’s Spawn: Blood Feud miniseries and the entire run of The Tenth. Daniel wrote and drew Image’s F5 and Dark Horse’s Silke miniseries, establishing himself as a double threat. After a short stint at Top Cow penciling Tomb Raider, and writing and drawing HumanKind, Daniel moved to DC. He illustrated Geoff Johns’ Teen Titans and Bart Allen’s death in Flash, and teamed with Grant Morrison on Batman. Daniel wrote and drew the Batman: Battle for the Cowl miniseries, and then became the regular Batman writer and artist. He went on to write Savage Hawkman, and write and draw Detective Comics, for DC’s New 52.Artist Terry Dodson broke into Marvel Comics with Storm, a four-issue series with writer Warren Ellis focusing on the longtime X-Man. After a stint on the X-Men teen spinoff series Generation X, Dodson helped writer Karl Kesel launch Harley Quinn for DC Comics, starring the Joker’s deadly female sidekick. Following the completion of writer Mark Millar’s Marvel Knights Spider-Man, Dodson again collaborated with Millar on the EA video game Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects. Following runs on Uncanny X-Men and Defenders with writer Matt Fraction, Dodson remains one of the most popular artists in the field, a status he attributes in large part to the contributions of his wife, Rachel, who adds her talented inking to much of Terry’s work.

A massive cultural phenomenon, made even bigger by the hit anime based on it. To this day, "Ashita no Joe" remains one of the most important manga of all time, and now it will finally see the light of day in English for the first time!THE PECULIAR TRAGEDY OF THE BOXERAfter their decisive bout, the end of Joe's great rivalry with Rikiishi sends him spiraling into the depths of despair—where does a rowdy underdog go when he has nothing left to fight for? But when an unexpected new rival provides Joe with a fresh challenge, will he be able to claw his way out of the gutter once again...?This universally acclaimed classic is much more than a sports manga: it is a cultural touchstone and a realist masterpiece, perhaps the most prominent series ever to eschew any hint of the superhuman or supernatural, yielding a keenly observed human drama that captured the hearts of an entire generation on its way to becoming a runaway bestseller. Serialized from 1968-1973, Ashita no Joe made a particular impact on college students and the working class, who saw their own experience reflected in Joe's struggle. To this day, it remains one of the most important manga ever published, and this landmark omnibus edition marks its first appearance in English translation.Hitmaker Asao Takamori was arguably the biggest manga author of his day, while the massively influential Tetsuya Chiba was awarded the prestigious Order of Culture by the Japanese government in 2024, the first manga artist ever to receive that honor.
Rated T+
Takamori was perhaps the biggest manga author of his day, churning out hit after hit in the 60s and 70s, including "Ashita no Joe," "Star of the Giants," and "Tiger Mask." While all are nominally sports manga, Takamori's great skill was in bringing other dimensions to his work.Tetsuya Chiba, known primarily for his sports manga, is one of the most influential manga artists of all time and winner of innumerable awards.

The breathtaking conclusion to the mega-bestselling Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan, now a graphic novel!Though the Greek and Roman crewmembers of the Argo II have made progress in their many quests, they still seem no closer to defeating the earth mother, Gaea. Her giants have risen—all of them—and they’re stronger than ever. They must be stopped before the Feast of Spes, when Gaea plans to have two demigods sacrificed in Athens. She needs their blood—the blood of Olympus—in order to wake. The demigods are having more frequent visions of a terrible battle at Camp Half-Blood. The Roman legion from Camp Jupiter, led by Octavian, is almost within striking distance. Though it is tempting to take the Athena Parthenos to Athens to use as a secret weapon, the friends know that the huge statue belongs back on Long Island, where it might be able to stop a war between the two camps. The Athena Parthenos will go west; the Argo II will go east. The gods, still suffering from multiple personality disorder, are useless. How can a handful of young demigods hope to persevere against Gaea’s army of powerful giants? As dangerous as it is to head to Athens, they have no other option. They have sacrificed too much already. And if Gaea wakes, it is game over.Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson and the Olympians is now a hit series on Disney+!

Writer Ryan North went the self-publishing route to launch his comics career with Dinosaur Comics, which has run for more than 2,000 web-based strips. He describes it as basically the best job ever. In 2012, he was tapped by BOOM! Studios to write its new Adventure Time series based on the popular cartoon. His Marvel debut came in 2014 when he penned the Young Avengers chapters of Original Sins. North propelled an unlikely character to solo title success with the Eisner Award-winning series The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl and took Lockjaw solo in the pages of Inhumans: Once and Future Kings. He rewrote the Shakespeare rulebook with Romeo and/or Juliet: A Chooseable-Path Adventure.Chip Zdarsky became well-known as the artist of the award-winning Sex Criminals and the writer of Kaptara, both from Image Comics. Howard the Duck was his first Marvel series, soon followed by books including Marvel 2-in-One and Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man. Now one of the leading writers in comics, Zdarsky has wowed readers with his Daredevil run; limited series such as X-Men/Fantastic Four, Spider-Man: Life Story and Spider-Man: Spider’s Shadow; and creative covers including his “How to Draw” variants.Canadian writer Jed MacKay has built an extensive list of credits at Marvel — including such titles as Edge of Spider-Geddon, Infinity Wars: Ghost Panther, Daughters of the Dragon and Man Without Fear. His career caught fire in 2019 with Black Cat, a character-defining phenomenon. MacKay has built on that success with his highly entertaining take on Taskmaster; a high-profile relaunch of Moon Knight; and Death of Doctor Strange, which led Clea to become the new Sorcerer Supreme in Strange. With his profile continuing to rise, MacKay took on two of Marvel’s biggest titles, Avengers and X-Men, while helming his first big crossover event in Blood Hunt.Frank Tieri entered the early part of the new century as writer on diverse titles such as Wolverine, Iron Man and Weapon X. His Hercules limited series cast the Avenger as a reality-TV star reliving his twelve trials, continuing the lighthearted legacy of Olympus’ favorite son. Tieri’s Underworld and Civil War: War Crimes explored the effects of the heroes’ registration fight on Marvel’s criminal element. World War Hulk: Gamma Corps followed the next generation of gamma-irradiated superhumans as they sought to kill the Hulk. And Dark Reign: Lethal Legion charted the crash-and-burn exploits of an ad hoc team of bad guys as they vainly sought to topple Norman Osborn from power. Tieri, whose Marvel credits also includes New Excalibur, explored Weirdworld in the pages of Black Knight.Acclaimed author and screenwriter Benjamin Percy broke into comics in 2014 with a two-issue Batman story arc in Detective Comics. He is also known for his work on Nightwing, Green Arrow and Teen Titans for DC Comics, and James Bond: Black Box for Dynamite Entertainment. Percy wrote two seasons of Marvel’s Wolverine podcast series: Wolverine: The Long Night, which was listed as one of the top fifteen podcasts of the year by Apple and won the iHeart Radio Award for best scripted podcast in 2018, and Wolverine: The Lost Trail. In print, he was a key contributor to the X-Men’s Krakoan Era as writer of X-Force and Wolverine. Percy blazed a new trail for the Spirit of Vengeance with his deliciously dark revival of Ghost Rider and pitted some of Marvel’s greatest heroes against the iconic movie hunters, the Predators. After the mash-up concept Hellverine proved a smash hit in Percy’s Wolverine/Ghost Rider: Weapons of Vengeance crossover, the writer launched a Hellverine limited series followed by an ongoing series — with Wolverine’s son, Akihiro, assuming the mantle. And Percy was the ideal choice to unite the ultimate odd couple in the pages of Deadpool/Wolverine.Rainbow Rowell writes books about adults (Attachments, Landline), about teenagers (Eleanor & Park, Fangirl) and, whenever possible, about lovesick vampires and guys with dragon wings. (The Simon Snow Trilogy). She has ventured into the comic-book field, with her first graphic novel, Pumpkinheads, and a hugely enjoyable reinvigoration of Marvel’s teen heroes, Runaways. Rowell lives in Omaha, Nebraska.R.B. Silva is a Brazilian artist who built his reputation at DC Comics on titles including Superboy, Red Hood and the Outlaws, World’s Finest and Action Comics. For Marvel, he has worked on War Machine, Spider-Man and the X-Men, Nova and the James Patterson adaptation Max Ride: Ultimate Flight. Gerry Duggan has become one of Marvel’s most influential writers, having first made an impression at the House of Ideas with a lengthy and always surprising Deadpool run alongside his frequent writing partner, Brian Posehn. Among Duggan’s solo credits are Nova, Hulk and multiple tie-ins to the Secret Wars event. He added Deadpool to the revamped roster of Uncanny Avengers and brought his unique blend of action and humor to All-New Guardians of the Galaxy, leading up to the cosmic event series Infinity Wars. Marauders and Cable established him as a vital part of the storytelling team for the Dawn of X era, a role he has cemented further by launching the blockbuster new X-Men title. Their collaboration with artist Emily Pearson on zombie story The Wilds for Black Mask gained Ayala industry-wide attention, including at Marvel, where they demonstrated their talents on books including Shuri and Marvel Knights: 20th. The limited series Age of X-Man: Prisoner X followed, then the ongoing Morbius, and Ayala introduces a new generation of mutants for Dawn of X in Children of the Atom. In addition, they have written comic books featuring such diverse pop-culture icons as Xena: Warrior Princess and James Bond, as well as their critically acclaimed series Livewire for Valiant Comics.Tini Howard kicked her career into high gear by winning the 2013 Top Cow Talent Hunt, which led to her first comics credit as writer of Magdalena: Seventh Sacrament. She went on to write for major properties including Rick and Morty, Power Rangers and Barbie, and created her own series Assassinistas and Euthanauts, published by IDW. Howard arrived at Marvel to join the Dawn of X team on the pivotal book Excalibur, going on to mastermind the X of Swords crossover with Jonathan Hickman. Her other Marvel titles include Strikeforce, Death’s Head and Age of Conan: Bêlit.A writer for the Emmy Award-winning animated series Robot Chicken and co-creator of the stop-motion SuperMansion, Zeb Wells began making a name for himself at Marvel with his irreverent New Warriors limited series, which provided an inspiration for key story threads that would later appear in Civil War; he also wrote the Civil War: Young Avengers & Runaways tie-in. Wells’ other credits include Daredevil: Battlin’ Jack Murdock, Venom: Dark Origin, Dark Reign: Elektra and Spider-Man/Doctor Octopus: Year One. He also contributed to the thrice-monthly “Brand New Day” era of Amazing Spider-Man, most notably with the “Shed” storyline; wrote two Carnage limited series; and helped relaunch New Mutants. Writer/editor Stan Lee (1922-2018) made comic-book history together with Jack Kirby in 1961 with Fantastic Four #1. The monumental popularity of its new style inspired Lee to develop similarly themed characters — including the Hulk and X-Men with Kirby, Spider-Man and Doctor Strange with Steve Ditko, and Daredevil with Bill Everett. After shepherding his creations through dozens of issues — in some cases a hundred or more — Lee allowed other writers to take over, but he maintained steady editorial control. Eventually, he helped expand Marvel into a multimedia empire. In recent years, his frequent cameo appearances in Marvel’s films established Lee as one of the world’s most famous faces.Roy Thomas joined the Marvel Bullpen as a writer and editor under Stan Lee, scripting key runs of nearly every title of the time: Amazing Spider-Man, Avengers, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, Sub-Mariner, Thor, X-Men and more. He wrote the first 10 years of Marvel’s Conan the Barbarian and Savage Sword of Conan; and launched such series as Defenders, Iron Fist, Invaders and Warlock. At DC, he developed All-Star Squadron, Infinity Inc. and related titles, proving instrumental in reviving the Golden Age Justice Society of America. Thomas later became editor of Alter Ego, a magazine devoted to comic-book history, and co-scripted the sword-and-sorcery films Fire and Ice and Conan the Destroyer. As both writer and artist, Archie Goodwin (d. 1998) got his start in comic strips and cartoons before moving to Warren Publishing’s Vampirella — and from there to Marvel, where he eventually succeeded Gerry Conway as editor in chief. He has been credited with saving Marvel from financial ruin, with Roy Thomas, by securing adaptation rights to the legendary Star Wars franchise, perceiving its potential long before later merchandisers. He also wrote comic-book adaptations of Alien, Blade Runner and other hit films. He created both Marvel’s Graphic Novel line and its Epic Comics imprint — where, as editor, he occasionally appeared in caricature as alien, elf or other. He also edited early English translations of the Akira series and the works of Moebius. At DC Comics, he guided the destinies of Batman and Starman; one of his most memorable bodies of work was his collaboration with Walter Simonson on the “Manhunter†backup feature in Detective Comics, which won five Shazam Awards.Guaranteed immortality for introducing Johnny Blaze, the Ghost Rider, Gary Friedrich also played a pivotal role in Marvel’s 1970s Western and war comics, penning memorable tales of Sgt. Fury and launching the Marine series Captain Savage. In addition, Friedrich wrote issues of Incredible Hulk, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Daredevil, X-Men and more. With Steve Ditko, he co-created Charlton’s Blue Beetle, now a DC character. With Len Brown, he has written a series of books on popular music.Arnold Drake (1924-2007) helped shape the Silver Age both at Marvel with Captain Marvel and X-Men; and at DC with Batman, Doom Patrol and “Stanley and His Monster.†His media tie-in work ranged from Star Trek to Bob Hope and Jerry Lewis. He wrote, produced and directed the 1964 horror film The Flesh Eaters, and wrote lyrics for several musicals. He won 1967 Alley Awards for Best Full-Length Story and Best New Strip (both for Deadman in Strange Adventures), as well as the Bill Finger Award for Excellence in Comics Writing. The unique, shadowy style of Gene Colan (1926-2011) most memorably appeared in long stints on Captain America and Daredevil, and all 70 issues of Tomb of Dracula — among the dozens of other Marvel titles he has drawn. His DC work on Detective Comics and Night Force is equally well remembered. During the Golden Age, he drew multiple war stories for Marvel and DC alike. Colan has earned several Eagle Awards and had professional art showings in New York City. His work on Ed Brubaker’s Captain America at the age of 82 drew well-deserved raves. An unparalleled talent, Bill Everett created Prince Namor, the Sub-Mariner, comics’ original anti-hero, whose ongoing adventures set the bar for sophisticated comic-book serials. Equally as skilled at illustrating horror and war comics, Everett continued as one of Timely’s top artists until 1957. Once the Marvel Age kicked off, Stan Lee brought Everett back into the fold to co-create Daredevil and return once more to his signature creation, the Sub-Mariner.John Buscema (1927-2002) literally wrote the book on being a Marvel artist — namely, How To Draw Comics the Marvel Way — and few were better qualified. His career dated back to the Timely/Atlas era of the late ’40s and early ’50s. Soon after beginning the Marvel Age of Comics, Stan Lee recruited Buscema from the advertising field to the Marvel Bullpen. Buscema followed a long run on Avengers with the long-anticipated first Silver Surfer series. He subsequently succeeded Jack Kirby on Fantastic Four, Thor and other titles. By the time of his retirement in 1996, Buscema had penciled nearly every Marvel title — including his personal favorite, Conan the Barbarian.During the 1960s, when males dominated the industry, Marie Severin earned the respect of her peers with her seemingly limitless talents in every facet of comic-book production — from penciling to inking to lettering to coloring. Her earliest recorded work was for EC Comics in 1949, and she went on to contribute coloring across the famous publisher’s line before moving to Marvel’s predecessor Atlas Comics. In the Silver Age of comics, Severin made her mark in the Bullpen, drawing the adventures of Doctor Strange and becoming the company’s head colorist before going on to concentrate on penciling. Her extensive contribution to Marvel across a wide array of titles includes providing the original design for Spider-Woman. Severin was inducted into the Will Eisner Comics Hall of Fame in 2001.Dan Adkins (1937-2013) worked on comic books and science-fiction magazines from an early age; as the Silver Age of comics dawned, he joined the Wally Wood Studio as Wood’s assistant, their collaborations including stories in such titles as Creepy and Eerie. Adkins arrived at Marvel in 1967 and worked primarily as an inker on an array of titles, including an extensive run on Conan the Barbarian. He also penciled the adventures of Doctor Strange, Ka-Zar and others. Also famed for his cover paintings, Adkins was inducted into the Joe Sinnott Hall of Fame in the Inkwell Awards of 2019.Born Jacob Kurtzberg in 1917 to Jewish-Austrian parents on New York’s Lower East Side, Jack Kirby came of age at the birth of the American comic book industry. Beginning his career during the rising tide of Nazism, Kirby and fellow artist Joe Simon created the patriotic hero Captain America. Cap’s exploits on the comic book page entertained millions of American readers at home and inspired U.S. troops fighting the enemy abroad. When World War II ended, the public’s interest in super heroes waned; Kirby turned his artistic talents during the 1950s to other genres, such as monsters, Westerns and crime — as well as the first-of-its-kind Young Romance Comics. In 1961, Kirby returned to super heroes to illustrate what would become the defining issue in Marvel Comics history: Fantastic Four #1. Written by Stan Lee, the team’s debut revolutionized the industry overnight. In contrast to the staid artwork of his predecessors, Kirby’s illustrations seemed to leap off the page with eye-popping action and drama. For the next decade, Kirby and Lee would introduce a mind-boggling array of new characters — including the Avengers, the Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, the Silver Surfer and the X-Men. Taken together, Kirby’s groundbreaking work with Lee formed the foundation of the Marvel Universe. In the early 1970s, Kirby moved to DC Comics, where his boundless creativity continued. He returned to Marvel in 1975, writing and illustrating Captain America and introducing his final major concept, the Eternals. With the explosion of TV animation during the 1980s, Kirby’s talents turned to the small screen. Comic fans quickly recognized his work on such series as Thundarr the Barbarian and Turbo Teen. Kirby died in 1994, but his influence on the comic book industry is as strong as ever. His work has inspired a generation of professional artists and modern writers who continue to explore his vast universe of concepts and characters. The industry lost an icon with the passing of Tom Sutton (1937-2002), best remembered as the original artist of the cult-classic icon Vampirella. Having begun his career with the comic strip Johnny Craig and contributions to underground comics, Sutton worked in multiple genres at Marvel — including Western (Kid Colt Outlaw, Rawhide Kid), humor (Arrgh, Crazy, Not Brand Ecch), super heroes (Doctor Strange, Ghost Rider), and the licensed Planet of the Apes titles. During a run on Amazing Adventures, he and writer Steve Englehart revamped the X-Men’s Beast into his better-known furry form. Moving to DC Comics, he penciled nearly every issue of the 1984-1988 series Star Trek and, with J.M. DeMatteis, co-created “I, Vampire†for House of Mystery before returning to Marvel to pencil a Man-Thing serial in Marvel Comics Presents. Sutton’s additional body of work includes art for Charlton Comics, Eros Comics, First Comics and Skywald Publications. In 1976, Ross Andru (1927-1993) made comic-book history by penciling the first large-scale intercompany crossover, Superman vs. the Amazing Spider-Man, having spent years illustrating both characters in various titles. He also made Marvel history in Marvel Feature, drawing the Defenders’ first appearance. At DC, he spent nine years collaborating with Bob Kanigher on Wonder Woman. With Marv Wolfman and Mike Esposito, he co-created Vigilante (Adrian Chase).
