Garth Ennis has been writing comics since 1989. His credits include Preacher, Hitman, The Boys and the war series Battlefields and War Story, as well as successful runs on The Punisher and Fury for Marvel Comics. Originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland, Ennis now resides in New York City with his wife, Ruth.Croatian-born artist Goran Parlov’s contribution to the fan-favorite Italian comic series Ken Parker earned him attention overseas, garnering Parlov assignments on the cult classic Outlaw Nation, published by DC Comics, and the sci-fi series Terminator 3: Before the Rise. Parlov joined author Richard K. Morgan on Marvel’s Black Widow: Homecoming, a fast-paced miniseries that returned the character to her espionage roots. Following his success on Punisher, Parlov re-teamed with writer Garth Ennis on Punisher Presents: Barracuda MAX, illustrating a new tale of this unforgettable killer for hire. Few writers/editors influenced Marvel more than Mark Gruenwald (1953-1996). Famed for pioneering work on the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe and his magnum opus Squadron Supreme, he also wrote a hundred-plus-issue run of Captain America; multiple Marvel Two-in-One sagas; and several miniseries, including Contest of Champions, the first of Marvel’s multi-hero sagas. He explored the Marvel Universe’s ancient history in a series of What If? backup stories he also penciled.Roy Thomas joined the Marvel Bullpen as a writer and editor under Stan Lee, scripting key runs of nearly every title of the time: Amazing Spider-Man, Avengers, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, Sub-Mariner, Thor, X-Men and more. He wrote the first 10 years of Marvel’s Conan the Barbarian and Savage Sword of Conan; and launched such series as Defenders, Iron Fist, Invaders and Warlock. Kurt Busiek is perhaps most famous for his Eisner Award-winning collaboration with Alex Ross on Marvels, a fully painted classic that still amazes a quarter of a century later. Busiek launched Thunderbolts in the wake of “Heroes Reborn,” later writing Avengers and Iron Man upon the heroes’ return to the Marvel Universe. He teamed his two signature supergroups in the Avengers vs. Thunderbolts miniseries and spanned the history of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in Avengers Forever. He has revisited the Modern Era’s early years in such titles as Amazing Fantasy, Iron Man: The Iron Age, Thor: Godstorm and Untold Tales of Spider-Man. At DC, he has written multiple Justice League and Superman titles, and even pitted the Avengers against the JLA in a blockbuster crossover. Busiek launched his own super-hero multiverse with his Astro City series, which he’s been writing since 1995.
