Writer Joe Casey debuted at Marvel with a long Cable run and a stint on Incredible Hulk. For DC’s Wildstorm imprint, Casey wrote Wildcats and co-created Automatic Kafka and The Intimates; he also wrote DC’s Batman: Tenses and Adventures of Superman. For Marvel, he has written Deathlok, Iron Man: The Inevitable, Uncanny X-Men and several “retro” limited series including Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes I and II. With Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau and Steven Seagle, Casey formed the development/production company Man of Action, responsible for animated series including Cartoon Network’s Ben 10 and Disney/XD’s Ultimate Spider-Man.Having studied at New York’s School of Visual Arts, ChrisCross made his breakthrough in the comics industry working for DC Comics’ Milestone imprint on Blood Syndicate and The World Needs Heroes, before going on to illustrate titles including Firestorm and Outsiders. For Marvel, he illustrated the Slingers series spinning out of the world of Spider-Man, and then united with Peter David for a lengthy run on Captain Marvel.

Writer/artist Larry Hama got his start as a penciler before becoming a respected editor and later a writer during the ’80s with his career-defining work on G.I. Joe and a memorable run on Wolverine. Through the years, Hama proved his versatility writing Avengers, Blaze, Elektra, Generation X, The Punisher: War Zone and multiple Venom miniseries. When Devil’s Due, IDW and Image Comics in turn obtained the G.I. Joe license, Hama revisited his iconic Marvel run, continuing where he had left off years earlier and bringing the series to — and past — a record-breaking three hundred issues. At Continuity Comics, he created Bucky O’Hare, launching a franchise that extended to animation, video games and a toy line. Hama recently revisited his era helming the adventures of Logan with the Wolverine: Patch limited series.After beginning his writing career on DC horror titles, David Michelinie moved to Marvel. He and co-writer/inker Bob Layton established Iron Man’s battle with alcoholism, use of specialized armor variants and vendetta against Doctor Doom, as well as other aspects of the character that endure to this day. Michelinie’s unique blend of action, suspense and humor distinguished not only Iron Man, but also Amazing Spider-Man. With artist Todd McFarlane, he introduced the vicious vigilante Venom; he also wrote the first Venom limited series, Lethal Protector. Michelinie’s run as Amazing writer was second in length only to that of Stan Lee himself, while he also authored tie-in titles Spectacular Spider-Man, Web of Spider-Man and Spider-Man. Following his run on She-Hulk, Slott moved into the upper echelon of Marvel writers, launching Avengers: The Initiative and taking the reins on Mighty Avengers from Brian Michael Bendis. When Marvel gave Spider-Man a fresh start in 2008, Slott was one of several rotating writers on the thrice-monthly Amazing Spider-Man. Multiple Eagle Award winner Paul Gulacy made history as artist on one of comicdom’s first graphic novels, Eclipse Comics’ Sabre (1978), written by Don McGregor. His initial Marvel work on Generation X began a long association with the X-Universe across various titles that saw him become a fan-favorite artist for Marvel’s mutants. Subsequently, he created Steampunk with Joe Kelly, and made forays into the Ultimate Universe and a big splash in the “Brand New Day” era of Amazing Spider-Man. His art has also graced the pages of New Avengers and the Dark Reign: Sinister Spider-Man limited series, as well as Marvel NOW!’s Uncanny X-Men. Bachalo helped reinvigorate Marvel’s Sorcerer Supreme along with writer Jason Aaron on Doctor Strange. His subsequent work has included Deadpool and the high-octane, web-slinging action of Non-Stop Spider-Man.Artist Mike McKone was pegged as a future industry superstar when his first work was published in DC’s JLA and Legion. In 2001, McKone collaborated with writer Judd Winick to launch Marvel’s Exiles, a surprise hit among X-fans. Two years later, he teamed with writer Geoff Johns to revamp Teen Titans for DC. Since signing an exclusive contract with Marvel, McKone’s credits include Fantastic Four, Amazing Spider-Man and Avengers Academy.
