His career has included work as a musician in the city’s clubs and pubs, a steel-fixer on the towering edifices of the Square Mile, and a designer of stained-glass windows. For thirty-five years he worked in Mayfair at the internationally renowned auction house Sotheby’s, overseeing electronic security for some of the world’s most valuable works of art.
