esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.

The critically-acclaimed graphic novel is back in print!Vincent Carl Santini wants to tell you a story about his senior year in high school, but memory is a tricky thing. That one story becomes a hilarious and occasionally harrowing journey through all of Santini’s childhood growing up in 1960s and 70s Brooklyn. J.M. DeMatteis and Glenn Barr’s Brooklyn Dreams is a nostalgic visit to a very specific time and place, as well as a universal search for hope and meaning.
Rated T
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, J. M. DeMatteis was a professional musician and rock music journalist before entering the comic book field. DeMatteis has written almost all of the major DC and Marvel icons—including memorable runs on Spider-Man (his classic "Kraven’s Last Hunt" was voted number one in a 2012 Comic Book Resources poll of Spider-Man stories and number twelve in a 2017 CBR poll of the greatest comic book stories of all time. The Hollywood Reporter called KLH "perhaps the greatest Spider-Man standalone story") and Justice League (winning DeMatteis and his collaborators, Keith Giffen and Kevin Maguire, comics’ highest honor, the Eisner Award); but his greatest acclaim has come for sophisticated original graphic novels like Seekers Into The Mystery, Blood: A Tale, The Last One, and Mercy. The autobiographical Brooklyn Dreams was picked by the ALA as one of the Ten Best Graphic Novels and Booklist, in a starred review, called it “as graphically distinguished and creatively novelistic a graphic novel as has ever been...a classic of the form.” The groundbreaking Moonshadow was chosen (along with Brooklyn Dreams, Blood and other DeMatteis works) for inclusion in Gene Kanenberg, Jr’s 2008 book 500 Essential Graphic Novels—where it was hailed as one of the finest fantasy graphic novels ever created. His success in the comic book medium has led DeMatteis to work in both television (writing live action and animation) and movies (creating screenplays for Warner Bros, Fox, Disney Feature Animation, directors Carlo Carlei, Chris Columbus, and others). In 2006, DeMatteis had great success with the acclaimed children's fantasy Abadazad-which Entertainment Weekly hailed as "...one of those very rare fantasy works that can enchant preteen kids and 40-year old fanboys..." and Publisher's Weekly, in a starred review, called "an appealing blend of Spirited Away and The Wizard of Oz." Abadazad began life as a CrossGen comic book before morphing into a three-book series published by Disney's Hyperion Books For Children. DeMatteis's 2009 graphic novel, The Life and Times of Savior 28, was called "one of the finest superhero stories of the decade" by Newsarama. In 2010, HarperCollins published DeMatteis's fantasy novel Imaginalis—which the School Library Journal said "will delight readers who imagine themselves in the pages of their favorite books." For DC he wrote Phantom Stranger, Justice League Dark, Justice League 3000, and Scooby Apocalypse. In animation, he contributed episodes to the series Justice League Unlimited, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Ben 10, Teen Titans Go and other shows—as well as writing the animated features Batman vs. Robin, Batman: Bad Blood, and Constantine: City of Demons.More recently, DeMatteis has written the animated movies Superman: Red Son and Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons, IDW's cosmic adventure Impossible Inc., the reality-bending thriller The Girl in the Bay for Dark Horse/Berger Books, and multiple episodes of Marvel's Spider-Man. Current works-in-progress include DC's Justice League Infinity, Marvel's Ben Reilly: Spider-Man, several new creator-owned series, and more work in animation and film.DeMatteis continues to teach Imagination 101, a workshop exploring the practicalities and metaphysics of writing for comics, graphic novels and animation. He's also the founder of Creation Point, a story consultation service that offers in-depth guidance for both the professional and aspiring writer.DeMatteis lives and works in upstate New York.

New edition with bonus material by Dave McKean!Dark Horse proudly presents a new, second edition, of the graphic novel by legendary artist Dave McKean, based on the life of Paul Nash, a surrealist painter during World War 1. The Dreams of Paul Nash deals with real soldier's memoirs and all the stories add up to a moving piece about how war and extreme situations change us, how we deal with that pain, and, in Nash's case, how he responded by turning his landscapes into powerful and fantastical psychoscapes. The second edition of Black Dog: The Dreams of Paul Nash features a new cover by Dave McKean, along with 15 pages of new bonus material examining the creation of the book.

David McKean is an illustrator, photographer, comic book artist, graphic designer, filmmaker and musician. His work incorporates drawing, painting, photography, collage, found objects, digital art and sculpture. After a trip to New York in 1986 during which he failed to find work as a comics artist, McKean met writer Neil Gaiman and the pair collaborated on a short graphic novel of disturbing childhood memories, Violent Cases, published in 1987. This was followed in 1988 by a Black Orchid miniseries (again with Gaiman) and Hellblazer covers for DC Comics. Beginning in 1989 he produced the covers for Gaiman's celebrated series The Sandman, all its collected editions and many of its spin-offs, and the Batman graphic novel, Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth, with writer Grant Morrison (1989). McKean has gone on to collaborate further with Neil Gaiman in both print and film.

For the first time in English comes the critically acclaimed manga from John Tarachine, the author of Witch of Thistle Castle, that's perfect for fans of BL Metamorphosis! Generations apart, Kai and Umiko share a spirit driven to make movies—and a struggle not to be typecast, whether by youth or age.Kai’s worn out from all the part-time jobs he’s been working because he won’t take his family’s money…but after a major talent agency gets in touch with him, he’s on the crest of a big decision. Is his greatest asset neither his dreams nor his determination, but his entrancing self…and should he start selling it to the public for whatever they think it’s worth?Meanwhile, a celebrity’s already on campus—Sora, the popular young Insta influencer, who stung Umiko at the arts festival by suggesting she’s just a well-off granny who’s looking for a pastime past her prime. Worse, he’s convinced that he’s destined for a brilliant directorial career himself…and he’s just enrolled in the same film school! But Umiko’s wondering if Sora only said aloud what many of the other students are already thinking about her. And despite his bad manners, perhaps Sora’s own sea isn’t as shallow as it first appears…

John Tarachine (a pen name) was born in 1989 in Hyogo prefecture in the Kansai region of Japan. While at art school, she tried her hand at filmmaking, but realized she was better suited to working alone and decided to pursue manga as a career. After graduating, she set out on a trip around the world, promising herself that she would get a real job if she didn’t make it as a manga artist by the time she was twenty-five. She narrowly met that personal deadline when she made her debut in 2015 with Good Night, I Love You, a tale of a man who travels to London to fulfill his mother’s dying wish. She followed this up with a manga adaptation of the Netflix series Sex Education before tackling fantasy in Witch of Thistle Castle. She came to feel that she was more interested in drawing shojo manga, however, and when an editor at the shojo magazine Mystery Bonita reached out to her about working together, the result was the critically acclaimed The Credits Roll into the Sea. She also draws BL manga under the name John Taratsumi. Jocelyne Allen is a Japanese translator and interpreter who splits her time between Toronto and Tokyo. She has translated hundreds of short stories, novels, and manga, including the Eisner Award-winning titles Lovesickness by Junji Ito and Onward Toward Our Noble Deaths by Shigeru Mizuki, and the Harvey Award-winning My Lesbian Experience With Loneliness by Nagata Kabi, as well as the critically acclaimed Our Dreams at Dusk by Yuhki Kamatani, and the classic shojo manga The Rose of Versailles by Riyoko Ikeda. As an interpreter, she has worked with Japan’s most celebrated authors and artists, including Sayaka Murata, Inio Asano, Mieko Kawakami, and Natsume Ono. She can be found online at kaikatsu.ca, blogging about books at brainvsbook.com, or noodling about translation and manga on Blue Sky (@brainvsbook).
