Kôsaku, rimasto orfano, è andato a vivere nella casa di un boss della Yakuza e si è affezionato a una delle sue figlie, la graziosa Hibari… finché ha scoperto che quella ragazza è in realtà un ragazzo! Questo non sembra creare problemi a Hibari, mentre Kôsaku è parecchio confuso e si interroga sulla natura dei suoi sentimenti: amicizia? Affetto? O qualcosa di più? Nuovi problemi si affacciano intanto all’orizzonte: una ragazza che si innamora di Hibari, l’arrivo di un vecchio compagno di scuola di Kôsaku, “educatori” assoldati per trasformare Hibari in un vero uomo… Al liceo si continua a chiacchierare di quella “strana coppia”, e il campeggio estivo creerà nuove occasioni di spassosi equivoci… Tra partite di pallavolo, canzoni pop e bande di sgangherati mafiosi, Stop!! Hibari-kun! continua ad affrontare nel secondo capitolo con garbo e ironia le questioni relative alla sessualità e al genere, mescolate a un tessuto narrativo di brillante comicità che affonda le radici negli anni Ottanta, ma risulta ancora oggi fresca e contemporanea. L’entrata in scena di nuovi personaggi mette a dura prova il rapporto tra i due ragazzi, in una continua escalation di palpitazioni, incomprensioni e gag travolgenti. A scuola è arrivato il rubacuori Honda Takuto, mentre il padre di Hibari ospita un boss mafioso italiano che vorrebbe un matrimonio combinato tra le rispettive famiglie… Tra i vari protagonisti, però, è sempre Hibari a emergere. Con le sue scelte in campo sentimentale, con la sua spontaneità e libertà, Hibari è un inequivocabile simbolo della rivendicazione di diritti LGBT: è lei a scegliere quale immagine offrire di sé agli altri, svelando che la vera felicità consiste nel riuscire a somigliare al sogno che si ha sempre avuto di se stessi. Un’edizione definitiva per un gioiello del fumetto giapponese: una saga densa di citazioni di altri fumetti, canzoni, omaggi alle mode e alla cultura pop degli anni Ottanta.
