Hideyuki Kikuchi is a Japanese author famous for his horror novels. His most famous works include the Vampire Hunter D series, Darkside Blues, and Wicked City. He has been compared to both Stephen King and H. P. Lovecraft. Kikuchi was born in Chōshi, Japan, on September 25, 1949. He attended Aoyama Gakuin University and was trained as a writer by famed author Kazuo Koike. His first novel, Demon City Shinjuku, was published in 1982. Kikuchi became close friends with writer and director Yoshiaki Kawajiri during his adaption of Wicked City and the two have since collaborated on Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust and the OVA of Demon City Shinjuku.

While he’s never actually tried it, he also thinks curling looks like a hell of a lot of fun. Hurley claims his personal heroes are Earl Bassett and Valentine McKee, because they live a life of adventure on their own terms. He also claims that he would brain anyone who showed even the most remote signs of becoming a cannibalistic undead bastard, including his own brother, without a second thought. He’s lived in Joplin, Missouri, for most of his life, and never plans to leave. A former biotechnology researcher, Ema Lupacchino transitioned into comics and has worked on several Italian series, including L'insonne. Alongside her work as a comic book artist, she also illustrated role-playing game manuals. In the North American market, she has worked for many of the major publishers including Marvel, DC, IDW, Dark Horse, Image, and Dynamite on titles that include Wonder Woman, Birds of Prey, Star Trek/Doctor Who, and X-Factor among many others. Throughout her career she has contributed designs, illustrations, and concepts for statues, action figures, theme park graphics, and media promotional campaigns.
