esempio: @author Stan Lee
esempio: @artist John Romita
Jr.
@cover copertinista: cerca solo articoli di questo
copertinista. Per esempio: @cover Alex
Ross
@artista, @editore, @titolo (mentre @cover rimane uguale!)
grammaticalmente simili (Man/Men ad esempio).
articoli presentanti negli ultimi 30 / 90 giorni mentre @mese a quelli
presentati nel mese in corso e @YEAR all'ultimo anno (inteso come "gli
ultimi 365 giorni).
codice a barre.

Writer Jason Aaron saw his early collaboration with artist Cameron Stewart on DC/Vertigo’s The Other Side named one of the Washington Post’s Best Comics of 2007. His next project, Scalped, garnered industry-wide praise and led to a guest spot on Wolverine, beginning Aaron’s long association with Logan on various titles, as well as the rest of Marvel’s merry mutants on books including X-Men: Schism, Wolverine & the X-Men and Amazing X-Men. Aaron rocked the Marvel Universe with Original Sin and unfolded a status-quo-shattering Asgardian epic across multiple Thor titles. He was the ideal choice to steer the Rebel crew of Star Wars into new adventures on the series’ return to Marvel, and he ushered in a new era for the publisher with Marvel Legacy. In the wake of that one-shot, he took on Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in a sprawling, multiversal run on Avengers; welcomed another iconic property back to the House of Ideas with Conan the Barbarian; and put Frank Castle in charge of the Hand in a shocking relaunch of Punisher.Artist Ed McGuinness came to prominence with his work on Harris Comics’ Vampirella and Marvel’s Deadpool. At Awesome Entertainment, McGuinness participated in a Fighting American revamp with writer Jeph Loeb, who would become a longtime collaborator. A short run on WildStorm’s Mr. Majestic led to a longer one on DC Comics’ Superman and the launch of Superman/Batman with Loeb. Back at Marvel, McGuinness reunited with Loeb for Fallen Son: The Death of Captain America, Hulk and Avengers: X-Sanction before launching Amazing X-Men with Jason Aaron. McGuinness has reteamed with his Deadpool scribe Joe Kelly for Spider-Man/Deadpool and with Aaron on a blockbuster relaunch of Avengers.Paco Medina has illustrated a range of Marvel Comics — including New X-Men: Academy X, Captain Marvel, Thor, Venom, Marvel Team-Up, New Mutants and New Warriors, as well as relaunches of Deadpool and X-Men. Firmly established as a Marvel mainstay, Medina has enjoyed lengthy runs on Ultimate Comics X-Men, Nova and Legendary Star-Lord, as well as a major role in the Avengers storyline “No Surrender.â€Sara Pichelli worked in the animation industry as a storyboard artist and character designer before taking a chance in the comics business. After breaking in in her native Italy, she was a layout assistant for David Messina on Star Trek for IDW. In 2008, she was one of the winners of the ChesterQuest International Talent Search and has since worked for Marvel Comics on such titles as NYX, Runaways, Eternals, X-Men: Pixie Strikes Back and Namora. She joined writer Brian Michael Bendis on Ultimate Spider-Man, and together the pair introduced the new Spider-Man, Miles Morales, in the pages of Ultimate Fallout and Ultimate Comics Spider-Man. They continued Miles’ adventures in Spider-Man, and paired him with Peter Parker in Spider-Men and Spider-Men II. Pichelli reunited with Bendis on Guardians of the Galaxy.Artist David Marquez began his career fresh out of college as an animator on Warner Independent Pictures’ 2006 film A Scanner Darkly. He made his comics debut in 2010 with the graphic novel Syndrome, published by Archaia Entertainment, for which he received a Russ Manning Most Promising Newcomer Award nomination. He has since gone on to draw Secret Warriors, Fantastic Four: Season One, Ultimate Comics Spider-Man, All-New X-Men and Invincible Iron Man for Marvel. The event series Civil War II established him as one of the House of Ideas’ biggest artistic superstars.Italian artist Andrea Sorrentino won acclaim in the United States on titles I, Vampire and Green Arrow for DC Comics, as well as an adaptation of the video game God of War. He made a splash at Marvel illustrating Brian Michael Bendis’ two-part time-travel tale in the pages of All-New X-Men Annual and Uncanny X-Men Annual. Sorrentino reunited with Bendis on All-New X-Men and Secret Wars tie-in Old Man Logan before continuing the adventures of the aged Wolverine in the Marvel Universe with writer Jeff Lemire.Jason Masters was an art director in South Africa before taking on comics full time. He has worked for Marvel, Wildstorm and DC on titles such as Guardians of the Galaxy, Wolverines, Marvel 100th Anniversary Special: X-Men, Red: Frank, Red Faction: Armageddon, Nightwing and Batwoman. Masters has drawn the adventures of iconic superspy James Bond extensively for Dynamite Entertainment.Italian illustrator Stefano Caselli broke into American comics during the early 2000s with work on titles including Marvel’s Mutant X and Thunderbolts. He enhanced his reputation on series such as Avengers: The Initiative, Secret Warriors and Avengers Assemble before playing a key role in the rotating art team on Dan Slott’s Amazing Spider-Man and joining Jonathan Hickman on Avengers. Caselli collaborated with Brian Michael Bendis on a groundbreaking Invincible Iron Man run featuring Riri Williams as a new armored hero, and joined Gerry Duggan on the seafaring X-series Marauders.Spanish artist Javier Garrón studied architecture before his work on webcomics and blogs got the attention of DC comics. He went on to draw Batman Eternal, Infinite Crisis: Fight for the Multiverse, Batgirl: Future's End and more. Garrón made his Marvel debut with Cyclops in 2014 and enjoyed a string of successes — on titles including Secret Warriors, Star-Lord, Ant-Man and the Wasp, the Secret Wars tie-in Inferno and Miles Morales: Spider-Man — before his extensive collaboration with Jason Aaron on Avengers.Sure, Dale Keown’s first work for Marvel came on the not quite illustrious Nth Man, the Ultimate Ninja – but that wouldn’t be the title for which he would earn his richly deserved reputation as one of modern comics’ most exciting stylists. That honor would go to his run on Incredible Hulk – where, paired with writer Peter David, he would help take the gamma-irradiated character’s title to the zenith of its popular and creative acclaim. Keown left Hulk following a phenomenal three-year run to head to Image, where he created the memorable Pitt comic and character. Since then, he has contributed art to The Darkness (Image) and re-teamed with Peter David on the one-shot Hulk: The End.

by (W) LeVar Burton (CT) Tracey Michae'l Lewis-Giggetts
The legendary actor behind Roots, Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Reading Rainbow shares never-before-told stories from a life that has shaped generations—told at last on his own terms. This is my attempt to pull back the curtain. Not just on the roles I’ve played, but on the life I’ve lived. The fears. The fight. The survival. And yes, the joy. All of it.Tracing the different eras of his life—from Kunta Kinte to Geordi La Forge to Reading Rainbow and far beyond the camera—celebrated actor LeVar Burton fearlessly opens up about growing up during the Civil Rights Movement, being raised by a remarkable mother, and discovering his calling as a storyteller. He explores how acting has served as both a source of transformation and an escape from the most difficult parts of his past, while also confronting the challenges of being a parent, husband, and householder. As Burton honors the loved ones whose strength and resilience shaped him in this inspiring memoir, he also asks what we owe to our ancestors and to each other, reflecting on the deep necessity he’s always felt advocating for liberation and equity. Generous, deeply moving, and illustrated with personal family photos, Take My Word For It is a courageous self-portrait of an iconic artist.
LeVar Burton played Kunta Kinte in the acclaimed mini-series Roots, and he starred in Star Trek: The Next Generation as Lt. Commander Geordi LaForge. Other credits include a regular role on the CBS series Christy, and he served as host and contributing producer of the Emmy Award-winning children’s program Reading Rainbow, for which he received twelve Daytime Emmy Awards and a Peabody Award. He is an educator committed to improving children’s education through innovative uses of storytelling.

The house at 133 ____ Street, or as his brothers rechristened it ONE DIRTY TREE, haunts Noah Van Sciver. This sprawling, dilapidated New Jersey house was his first home and the site of his formative experiences. Growing up in a big, poor, Mormon family—surrounded by comic books, eight siblings, bathtubs full of dirty dishes—Noah's childhood still shapes his present-day life. Drawn in his inimitable style, written with wry wit and humor, ONE DIRTY TREE is another reason why Noah Van Sciver is one of the best cartoonists of his generation. If you loved Noah Van Sciver’s MAPLE TERRACE, this is where the story started. Noah Van Sciver is an Ignatz Award-winning cartoonist known for his critically acclaimed comic book series Blammo. His work has appeared in SpongeBob comics, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Best American Comics, and countless graphic anthologies. Van Sciver is a regular contributor to MAD Magazine and has created five graphic novels, including The Hypo: The Melancholic Young Lincoln, Saint Cole, and the Fante Bukowski: Struggling Writer graphic novella series for Fantagraphics Books. “Light novels have not been my thing, [...] but reading Katanagatari was as close to a conversion experience as I’m likely to come. It also stands as, to date, a go-to example for how to translate a work of popular culture where a good half or more of it would be lost in translation.” - Ganriki.orgSwordless “swordsman” Shichika and self-described “schemer” Togame are on a quest to obtain twelve peculiar masterpiece blades. Introducing narrative curveballs that break up the structure and modulate the tempo, this paperback edition, featuring beautiful interior art and copious bilingual footnotes, is the second of a quartet collecting a best-selling series from the former homeland of samurais and ninjas. Now in paperback!

There are few authors in Japan who have reached the heights of success as NisiOisin. Born in 1981, Nisio dropped out of Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto, to pursue a career in story-telling. Initially he had ambitions to be a comic artist, but when he realized his art was not up to snuff, he began to focus on his writing, eventually winning the 23rd Mephisto Prize, for Decapitation recognizing his talents as a mystery writer, at the age of 20. Since his debut in 2002 Nisio has penned more than 50 novels and a number of comics. And he has quickly become one of Japan's top selling author's in recent memory with more than 5 million units sold since 2009. In 2014, as in 2012, he was the top selling author in Japan (outselling Haruki Murakami by more than half a million units).Nishio's works often cover themes of youth, but are framed in genres that are familiar to the masses. His works tend to mix mystery with comedy and touches or romance and/or the supernatural. He is a modern author in every sense, sometimes even experiementing with the Japanese language itself. Many of his works have been adapted into animated television series and films. His best known works are the Monogatari series and Katanagatari.

It stars the inhabitants of a small Latin American town — long-suffering midwife/sheriff Chelo; Pipo, tomboy-turned-heartthrob; Carmen, wryer than her years; teen boys Heraclio, Satch, Augustin, Jesus, Israel, and Vicente, whose paths diverge and intersect over time; Diana and Tonantzin, sisters and polar opposites; and many other finely drawn and dynamic characters — whose already-tempestuous lives are roiled when Luba, an assertive single mother, moves there to set up a bathing business. Palomar is a selection from the first 50 issues (1985–1996) of Hernandez’s multigenerational saga, which has followed the lives and loves, adventures and horrors, of his signature characters, their children, and their children’s children — borne from a place where the mystical is quotidian and the quotidian is mystical — for 40+ years. These are the stories that forever changed the face (and the heart) of American comics. (immagine) Categoria: Books: graphic novels

Loki’s fifth diary in the award-winning comedy series, now featuring doodle-packed stained edgesVinir the elf is staying in Midgard disguised as a school boy. To preserve the peace and prevent him from trying to murder Loki (again), Odin sends the goddess Freyja to pose as Vinir’s guardian. Soon Thor starts receiving mysterious fan mail, Valerie and Georgina start bickering and, worst of all, Hyrrokkin seems to have taken against Loki! It's up to Loki and a suspiciously besotted Vinir to figure out what mischief is afoot…
Louie Stowell started her career writing carefully researched books about space, ancient Egypt, politics, and science, but eventually lapsed into just making stuff up. The author of the Kit the Wizard series, she was inspired by her research into Norse myths to write Loki: A Bad God’s Guide to Being Good, which became a number-one UK bestseller, and its sequels. Louie Stowell writes full-time in London, where she lives with her wife, Karen; their dog, Buffy; and a creepy puppet that is probably cursed.

A boy named Kaboku sees a girl named Wanda dance, and suddenly burns with a need to join in. With its thrilling scenes of Japanese hip-hop dance and quirky, charming characters, this is a new, inspirational manga for fans of coming-of-age stories like Blue Period and Your Lie in April. Get up and join the Wandance!A change in leadership is on the horizon for the Ichirin High School dance club, but that’s not the only uncertainty in Kabo and Wanda’s future. As the two head into their next dance competition--this time as their very own duo—a series of all new challenges awaits them!Things are changing at the Ichirin High School dance club. With the seniors moving on, the club needs new leadership, and it’s an open question whether Iori or Monme would be the better choice. The club members come up with a novel way of finding out, and in the process, Iori discovers he may possess talents he never knew he had. Kabo and Wanda, meanwhile, prepare for World Experimental DC, a competition that values slick presentation as much as superb dancing. The judges include a well-known producer as well as street-dance diehard Assay, so contestants will have to excel in every dimension to pass this grueling test. kab-ONE isn’t the only group that has their eyes on the prize, and the outcome may come down to whether the judges can even agree on what they’re looking for...
